basically cut you std inlet in half, source a set of bodies, space them the correct distance apart then join them together, fabricate a throttle linkage and few other bits...theres more to it than that but you get the idea |

i'm more of the opposite lol. I'm sure someone here would make something for you. If 190-200bhp is your goal then cheapest option i can see is cams and remap |

I can't remember how much it cost to be fair (maybe £100 but dint quote me on that) but pocketed standard pistons allow fitment of slightly more aggressive cams ie pt81's but they can be correctly and safely timed up due to the deeper pockets. Hope this helps! ![]() how much power/torque did you end up with My engine is not yet finished however Denis (Russian guy on here) has a proven plus I have passenger ed in this car on several occasions, 195 bhp without bodies but he does have a modified inlet... I'll ser if I can find the thread! ![]() *edit* read Denis's thread, it's most interesting and very well informed! http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=131945 Hope this helps! ![]() ________________________________________ Team Running Engine again!Team Negative Camber! I've a Colin Satchell inlet with bike bodies on setup by Sandy Brown. 175bhp at the wheels so circa 200 at the fly I would assume.________________________________________ ![]() |

Standard cams. I had an engine with catcams here at the time which I could have used but decided to use my existing unit as it just felt better. Sandy had a route around the top end and commented that it had been regularly serviced and felt lively enough. If I do anything else engine wise I think it may be a lightened flywheel when I change my gearbox. I cannot stress the importance of a decent map. I drove the car to Sandy and it ran fine on the existing map which was loaded. After he had made his adjustments it was like driving a different car. ________________________________________ ![]() |

Cheaper at that cost if doing youself but not less work. Can you map the standard ecu to suit though or would you need standalone ecu Totally agree on the map comment as has mine mapped twice and totally different between the 2 maps I've had and 14bhp different as well (2nd session was power run at first and made 1bhp before mapped so should be accurate figures) |

It will be yeah. If your taking the bottom end apart how about this 88mm steel crank from a XUD S16 pistons and rods Pocket pistons Fast road cams Remap from chip wizards. would be 2044cc I think from memory Would produce good power and a nice torquey lump. ________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys![]() 309 3dr K20 Type R |
