88mm crank with S16 pistons will give you 50cc more anyway in a completely standard block. I would bother with head work just a set of cams.________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys![]() 309 3dr K20 Type R |

88mm crank is found in the 1.9td engines. I'm running 109 catcams in my gti6 engine, these are a standard fit for the head ________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys![]() 309 3dr K20 Type R |

Out of interest why do people not go the extra to forged pistons whilst its apart or are they just not necessary? |

I wouldnt use s16 pistons, very heavy and most will be worn out these days, also attached to short rods.Personally i would get some pistons made to work with bushed gti6 rods, longer rod so less side thrust loads and mean a lighter piston. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

It will be a lot cheaper than going down the Jenvey route, especially if you fabricate some parts yourself. I'm mid doing this exact thing along with my new engine build.... Which reminds me I must update my project thread...... ![]() I'm waiting on some adapter plates being machined up to fit the bodies on so as there's no silicone hoses required. Once I get them back hopefully next week sometime il post some pictures up so u can see how I'm doing it. It's an experiment at the end of the day, the engine is being build regardless of the bodies, if I can make the bodies work il be really happy! ________________________________________ Team Running Engine again!Team Negative Camber! PH2's have half a mil less lift at tdc than pt80/81, so as long as you can guarantee its not been skimmed you'll be ok.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
