Get that replaced ASAP then or expect the hose to split in less than 1000 miles.Had the same on my Xsara, ended up getting a short bent section of pipe and using it inside the hose to stop it collapsing. ________________________________________ Bang'in 7 gram rocks!I have one gear, GO! |

phillipm wrote: Or get a wire-reinforced replacement instead. Where can I get these from Phillip? Berger, I aim to get it replaced asap. The car has only been 'charged for 160 miles and that includes the running in phase so should be ok. The car is my weekend fun car and as its needs a new exhaust too, not been using it until I can get it sorted. Hopefully the wire reinforced hose will do as can't be arsed to get the charger off to get an alloy pipe welded on ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Some small little updates Get some forum love on the go.. As the shiny new supercharger bits made some of the other parts of the bay a bit tatty, thought it was time for a bit of a clean up on the cam carriers and rocker covers.. Item list: - Old towel - Bit of Autosol metal polish - Random bit of sandpaper I found in the shed - .. And a bit of patience and elbow grease Before: After: Also added another sticker to the air intake scoop, and a bit of a polish ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Few updates...New spark plugs were around the £30 mark, but after a mate did some shopping around for me, managed to get them for a tenner, good effort mate Samco hose turned up so no more "breathing" pipe on the outlet of the 'charger. New vs. Old. Samco one feels much stiffer, looking promising. As I had some spare alloy boost piping, I decided to cut a longer bit so the alloy pipe can go higher up the silicone hose to minimise the area of hose that can collapse. (That and the fact the Samco hose was a bit shorter) Measure it all up to work out how much I need Cut off a bit of pipe Here is what we are left with Put it all back on the car, and still the same issue ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Had a bit of time I needed to occupy, so what else can I do to the car? Oh yes, lets go buy some drill bits and get rid of the old rear seat plates (as I sat on them when fitting the cage and bent them and now they vibrate)You can just about see the black metal plates on the floor here, they need to go. After doing that I started thinking about what else I could "do without" I don't need the headlining do I? Bye Bye! Also got the B pillar trims removed and mechanism for adjusting seatbelt height, so tad more weight saved. Had a few other silicone joiners that didnt seem big enough to form a nice tight seal over the alloy tubing, so I bought some more silcone hose and changed the joiners. Much happier about that now as I found blowing the hose off makes it quite interesting to drive ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |
