Small update...I have started attacking my centre console as I want to change a few aspects so I can sneak a boost gauge in there. I have never been too keen on the A-pillar gauge holders and I like tinkering around with things like this (plus its good to be different) I am going to loose the bottom section where the clock, hazards and fag lighter go. Here is where I am up to after a few minutes last night. Note to anyone cutting carbon fibre, hacksaw probably isnt the best choice, and cut with the shiny side facing you or it f*cks the clear resin up (as I have found out) I am not too fussed about this as can smooth it round the edges as have a couple of mm to play with. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

The plan with the carbon peice is to keep the hazards and demister swith where they were (as its the easiest option) and have the gauge next to it on the right. I dont need a clock (phone sits in phone holder, so can use that) and the plan for the fag lighter is to kind of ra angle it to face down. It will only be used for plugging in the sat nav charger if need be, so I'm not fussed about it being easily accesible and tidy While I was there I have noticed a black box, and no idea what it is. Here are a couple of bad pictures.. Seems to have a loom of wires into the back of it and must be standard as it is attached via underneath of dash like so; Anyone know what it is? Can I get rid of it? ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

I clearly missed something Nice SC though Chris makes the Project thread seem even more worth while Did you specify you wanted a blue(anodized?) Inlet or was it a case of, 'Get what your given'? What is the sound like compared to standard (from the drivers perspective)? ________________________________________ I Live for the 306TEAM CHERRY PINK RALLYE 2008 BMW ///M 320d |

That's around the area the keypad immob sits in the phase 1's. Disconnect it and see if the car will start, if it does it ain't the immob Delamination's a b*tch though, when it's gone it's gone. I've found, depending on thickness, carbon shears or diamond edged dremel cutting discs work best. Hacksaw's too corrugated to get a good cut. You could try edging it with a file though, working from shiny side to matt side, to try and trim the edges down. Or I could make you a lower dash ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Thanks Harry Yeah, when I ordered the kit I was asked which colour for manifold and hoses, so I thought I may as well try blue as I hadn't seen another charger kit with blue, plus my car is blue ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Sooo, new exhaust is on and a few issues As the exhaust was from Dan's dimma, the first problem is the bumper cutout. On the dimma, the cutout is huge, so no concern there for fitting, but on my standard bumper, the tip rests against it. So I need to make the cutout slightly larger Due to the fine clearances it seems I have a nice rattle off one of the heatshields so this needs looking at. It also seems to be blowing a bit, so fair bit to check out at the weekend That said though, this exhaust is much better than the old one in terms of power. No longer restricted it goes like a bat out of hell ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Thats a bit odd, does it rest on the edges or the top bit ?Bend the hangers so it fits right or use cable ties to pull the rubbers tight on one side. ________________________________________ Dimma + Gt35 turbo =Solid rear beam mounts £130 07889376885 Dan |

I will get a pic up tonight Dan but it was something I was curious about. Its on the side of the cutout (drivers side). I am using stiffer rubbers in an attempt to move it over, but looks like I need to either bash the hangers or cut the bumper. Not a big deal to be honest It sounds mental though, really quiet and tame on part throttle, but give it any more throttle and noise completely changes ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Caution: The following update contains epic amounts of failureGot home tonight and thought I would check out where the exhaust was blowing/rattling and when I started the car to pull it round the corner it was very very loud, and very very rattly. Starts thinking "this sounds like when the decat join went on a previous exhaust" Jacked the car up to find the exhaust flopping round the underside of the car, does not look good. Here are my findings... The welded bit of exhaust pipe has completely come away at the weld Now, when the exhaust was fitted yesterday it did seem quite tight and there was very minimal movement in it. Could this be why it has happened? Can I get away with taking it off and getting it properly welded up? ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Oh and for those that want to laugh about location of the exhaust tip and my "it will be ok to drive a few miles to make sure its ok, it wont melt it much, will it?" thinking ended up like this... ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Least it's made the cutout wider for you! As for shearing the weld, what engine mounts do you have? There should be enough play in the exhaust hangers though to allow some movement, and the fire ring bolts are sprung, so not sure how that happened! ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |
