I expect it been jacked up incorrectly or grounded on a high kerb maybe, damaging the underseal and allowing rot a place to start. Always best to tackle that kind of thing sooner rather than later as they get a fair chunk worse each winter.

My cars been off the road since I got my engine mount done the other week getting the underneeth welded up. Thought it just needed a little welding but as you say once the water got in it started rotting from the inside out. All of my underseal was still intact but the metal above it was non existant. Just the outer layer so wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Had to remove the subframe and re do the whole outer skin into the arches above the subframe and past the jacking points.

Got it off the ramps last night so quite delighted. These cars are never ending.
Just brake pipes and braided hoses to fit and she's ready for the test.l

Nasty, but at least it's done right now. It really annoys me when I see jacks without the rubber pad being used as the bare metal ones just tear off under seal and give rot a place to start.

£20, but for that all I'll do is remove the wheel bolts, nick some fuel if there's any, then go to the pub.

Then charge you rent for stranding your car on my forecourt, plus 50% Welsh-Tax. Thumbs up

Best bet is to pay the asking price or FOYC Wink

Hi mate, I'll be needing to get this done sometime in March.

Do you have a weekend that would suit you best?

It's gonna be a bit of a trip for me so I want to try and at least vaguely plan it!
