ha, my mate DCC did much hte same mistake, but even worse, he forgot to tighten them up at all!

Throttle bodied 1.9 8v 205 with a 300 degree cam, got it up to 5k on the rolling road when mapping and the dowel let go, so the flywheel was flapping back and forth on the bolts.

new dowel and bolts, full map up to 7700 and its been fine over 2 years of death.

I am kicking myself but at least i torqued them up Sad But the dowel never let go.

Yeah i see no reason why the engine wont go again. The swarf build up was on the flywheel so theere is only scores on the crank. Just got a written off flywheel which i am now making into a clock LOL

Sorry mate I've been away then been flat out for a good while. As you I know I gotta find about another 6 grand for our wedding at the end of the year. Some of which I'll use savings some I'll wack on 0% credit card for now. My leon also needs 4 new tyres which aren't exactly a cheap size.

If you have other buyers waiting and need the money then I'll have to pass Sad Sad Sad

If you get people mess you about and still have the engine in a while then I've always got use of work van and engine crane at any time Wink

I believe he's keeping the boost gunge for his next car. But I'm sure he'll say if that's the case.
