well i picked this up last night seems like a good car with a few age related problems that need sorting out

first of which is the alarm

it seems the internal protection doesn't work and nor does the siren but external protection does (i can pull the door handle from inside and the indicators start flashing) but after waiting a minute nothing happens when i stick my hand in the window

ive gone through he faq but i cant really decide where i should start my search

thanks

Welcome ! I see it didn't stay clean for long ... in regards to the alarm - id check the actual alarm siren !

Surprising actually! Should find out what bodyshop it went to, looks like they can hide anything

well this evening in the rain i tried to fix the rain sensor and came to the conclusion you can fix whatever issue is up with mine
which i believe is the light detector has gone bad
although it still detects light as the LEDs stop blinking quickly when i shine a torch on the sensor or face it towards the interior light fully covering the sensor makes the LEDs blink quickly
and if i only partially cover it i can only make the wipers go full speed
