is it a mould for FG? my landlord does vacuum forming, I bet it would be even lighter in plastic than FG

Yes Jim a FG dash m8 & I wish I knew a small business that could make me a plastic one ...injection moulded would
Be amazing ...I visited a dash & door panel company my friend works at in Bitton nr Bristol ..they said about £2.5k for injection mould for there machine & minimum 100 to make it viable & it would look similar to the original but half the weight
...never worth it & crazy by anybody's standards LOL

It's going to weigh just over 1.5kg ...a standard one is approx 11kgs before you chop it down to about 5kg then you have sod all strength ...fibreglass flexes better Thumbs up

Would be interesting to see how much of a difference it is compared to mine, I thought I made it fairly light already but 1.5kg is crazy!

Is it full width? I chopped the ends of mine to make it fit better with the cage as it was a nightmare getting it in and out

No dash is even lighter!
I'm considering that for mine, just mount the clocks on a couple of brackets and have an ally pannel somewhere for the necessary switches/gauges. It'd look crap but saves weight Laugh

Yes 100% full width but no lower glove box ....but to fit it as tight as I've made it & to look tidy ...I've taken my old W/S out & fitted a non rain sensor one but haven't bonded it in just yet ...makes life so much easier puttin my modified old template cut about dash in & out ...I've got it fitting really flush & tight this way ....

Let's see how it fits when I hopefully pick it up tomorrow LOL

I replaced my steel small engine bush with a nylon one, heard that solid can cause the fork to crack. Had my solid one in for a while and it was fine afterwards though.

I've also got one of them alloy thermostat elbows, I wanted to point the outlet backwards to make it easier fitting the laminova but couldn't manage it as the bolt holes are offset Doh LOL

You're making some good progress with this Damien, can't wait to see it in person at pugfest Thumbs up
