to be honest, as much as i love my 6 and nothing derv will ever sound as good as a v8 being spanked up the road, i really am wanting to try my hand at derv tuning now ive been in a few.

Indeed they do, they deliver petrol to petrol stations in 39,000l increments.

I do roughly 40k a year in my van and it's diesel. I like the drivability of a diesel, but you're right petrols all the way for some serious fun. I've always had a diesel vehicle to be honest though alongside my petrol toys, so got pretty much the best of both worlds. Smile

You know its true... Good enough on fuel, comfortable and relatively reliable. And it has revs. I despise driving dervs that have very few.

I do agree with you, however I wouldn't want to drive a petrol everyday, I like diesel power for workhorses and petrol for playtime...Cool

Nothing like a stage 2 hdi screaming past though, checkout jonnys estate or Sean's Diablo, they are both hdi, sound fapping amazing, and give a '6 a run for there money.

    And still returns 50mpg

The only derv that posed a slight problem for my old scooby was a new Audi A5 3.0l TDI. The scooby had the exrra legs but there wernt that much left. That said though, I still wouldnt buy a derv for myself. Id rather pay the extra fuel cost. However, the wife will be getting an Audi A4 estate 2.0 tdi at some point.

For a 3.0 TDi, i was really disappointed at how quick them A5s are! Really not as quick as all the audi owners bang on that they are. Mind you thats the case with nearly all audis LOL

We was up against a 3.0 tdi A8 and I was expecting a lot more as they seem quite pokey in work, but on country lanes it didn't half disappoint us.

diesel are not far off petrols, had a drive in my mates dturbo, running t2 and 20odd psi and was really suprised, on a B road though cant beat a screaming shouty N/A with instant power anywhere in the rev range though.

If I was to buy a new car, that was going to be an everyday car it would be a diesel. I don't think that there will be a point that the diesels will have better performance than the petrols, they will just come into line along side the petrol counterpart. You just have to look at the genuine performance cars and none of them are made in diesel. The only reason that the racecars are using them is that they can go longer without pitstops, so that's how they get higher up the points

Nothing as such is wrong with it. Uts just looks a state and seems to be very bad on fuel. And by bad I mean worse than mine.

I had an HDi before the Rallye and it was good at what it did. I prefer the driving style of the Rallye and needing to use the revs although I do twinge sometimes at the amount of fuel it uses in comparison, especially on the long drive from Newcastle to Kent.
