I'm not sure about putting a cage in this shell. It's had a clout and is pretty rusty.
I think I will look around for another car over the winter tbh.

Rear end is now completely together. The s**t rear KWs have been binned in favour of some much better looking Koni yellows. Has to be said the KWs were bloody awful compared to these. I had a feeling they were beyond their best, then one started leaking. A lot less LOOS now!

Thanks very much Mei for sorting those out Thumbs up

PAS ram and a handbrake cable left to do before track on the 21st.

I think Velar still has the shell from the track car that he was breaking, that has a full cage ready to go...

Oh yes the KWs are Koni. I meant that the new dampers I've just fitted are probably for 205s.

Very tempting to get a decent 205 gti and bung it all in.

So did the T5D5 MRG charity trackday at Combe on Friday in support of Mission Motorsport. Was bloody brilliant! Managed 65 laps in total, staying out for 7-8 laps at a time. Probably could have done longer, but it was a warm day so was worried about oil and passengers temps.

Not many things were quicker, from vids of another car I was matching at the time I was doing 1:25 laps which is cool. The 3 cars that annihilated me were all on slicks. So cheating LOL

Anyway nothing broke, it handled really well with a nicely adjustable rear end with huge grip. DS2500s and ATE Superblue were up to the job too. I think I may need to buy one more R888 as the nearside front is pretty mullered, otherwise the others have a couple of days left in them.

Quite a high attrition rate meant a lot of cement on the track, hence the dust.

I feel your pain on the beetle, but beware of driving fast cars with not much feel - you'll only want another small french hatch again.

It is slowly getting there. It won't be anywhere near what i'd like but I don't have 4k to throw at it. Cage, diff, cams and TBs cost money! It'll be fun and pretty quick and cheap. Ideal Smile

What ever happened to fun, pretty quick and cheap? Laugh my ass off
