Not so much a bodging but I've had my car serviced at this one place for over 3 years now and on two years servicing they claimed slight play on front ball joints. I never changed anything but on it's 3rd service on Monday there was no mention of it but now we're on to slight play on steering rack even though that feels fine.

I had some joker replace my steering rack with one from a 5 speed pug, so there was nothing to stop me from rubbing my wheels against the gear box when turning. I got my money back off him but refused any further work, so got Thugman and Roland Rash to do it for me. A week later the whole thing fell apart after the bodge job they did and my car caught fire. (not really its been fine and they are both trust worthy when it comes to fitting parts on cars, depite them both having severe learning difficulties).

The only two cars I have bought (out of about 12) that haven't been screwed around with are my 106 xsi and my gti6. All the others had massive amounts of hidden problems. Worst being my jag xtype 3.0 sport which snapped its crankshaft after 2 weeks of ownership Thumbs down. Hell even my bike had dodgy taped up electrical stuff and stupid bolts of the wrong size holding half of it together!

Guess it took me ten cars to learn not to buy a heap! LOL

The only thing that continualy f**ks me off with my car is one of the captive bolts that hold the two levers for a rear seat is snapped.
Basically who ever owned it before me is a total tosser and kept durex in the seat pockets with his rolly paper while w**king off on the rear seats and snapping bolts left right and centre.
Also he some how dented the very top of the boot and is a complete c**t.
Oh and he also lost the service book manual thing and blue security card.
Tosser.

you sure the rear damper was dented? as standard shocks have a flat on one side, which is a prevention of it catching the beam
