This morning I went to tackle the other discs and pads. discs screws had been sheared off again and I couldn't get the calliper out of the holder as the top part of the sliders was a stud . got a tyre lever on it and put it in the vice to un- seize them too, pulled the sliders out and they nearly fell to bits, and I was shocked to see that with the top one with the stud had actually been made up using a steel rod with a thread cut on it and a nut welded on as a back stop which didnt actually slide at all. Went down to Peugeot and thats another £48 and a day the car is left jacked up till I can pick it up in the morning.
Had a look round the car wondering if its worth carrying on the work in hope to get it through the MOT in three weeks, all the wheel bolts are the tapered type which are only just biting the thread in the hubs (about 3-4 threads), theres a small whole on the corner of the wheel arch which I should be able to weld easy enough, the air filer is a bit of drainage down pipe jammed into the old intake pipes and the exhaust isn't held on by the rubbers but speaker wire.
All these things I was unable to check as I couldn't get under the car with it being lowered so much.
I just hope that when it finally comes to the MOT they don't fail it on some majorly s**t thing, well fail it at all actually otherwise it'll either turn into another project or just stripped and ready for another 205
Anyone else got a duff deal when you first bought yours?
