Well the rallye went a couple of weeks ago and while I was looking for a replacement this just happened to turn up for sale at a price that could not be said no to

Done a few things to her just little irritating things like wrong spot lights were fitted so binned them and other little interior bits. She sprang an oil leak on me as well so replaced some oil pipes as well

Its 100% standard 1.9 and runs beautifully

Rims need a refurb and I think the suspension could do with a refresh as well but other than that its not bad for 21 years old

Looks great!

Still miss my graphite grey 1.9, it was totally original and had a massive service history file. Such a hoot to drive. Big grin

I've got a spare set of 1.9 alloys if you want them with tyres? Not in amazing condition but only want £50 Smile

Yea agree standard is best certainly regarding these as there is good money in them. I thought the Mi16 were supposed to be better/stronger or is that just if you want to stay N/A with a big power increase? If it was me i'd be going down the '6 route.

I really like the idea of owning a 3dr 309 GTi! No idea if they are as good as the 205 GTi though, judging by the general price range i would guess not? Dunno

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time

309 handled better standard by Miles but were a bit heavier and admittedly a little bit ugly compared to the 205. 309 was similar roadhandling as a 6 imo.

309 didnt suffer from nearly unpredictable lift off understeer unlike the 205 and when IT did break I always felt it was much more chuckable

The 205s reputation is bo***cks imo, only put mine once in a hedge backwards in 5 years. And that was due to trying to load a cd in a crap headunit.

Anyway I also have one but its track only. Well sort of, its complicated...

Yea the 309 is not the best looking Pug, that is for sure but for some reason I think they are pretty cool/retro. Oh forgot about that issue with the Mi16 engine Roll eyes

I had a 3dr 309 with the Mi16 engine fitted, cracking car, handling was superb and it felt right with the Mi engine in there. No idea why I sold it, been looking for it for the last few years.
Would love a 205 again, yours looks a nice clean car, good luck with it

I put 309 gear on my 205 with gti6 shocks and brakes, it was much better for it, but i still dont think it handled as good as a 6.

Looks like a nice car chris, interior looks tidy.

Only time I have had a brown pants moment in a 205 was due to a f**king Volvo being in the way LOL
