That seems rather unusual to wear the keyway in that particular way. Did it have free play?

it did have some clockwise/anti clockwise play which got naturally worse at higher revs.

I sold the Cobra bucket seats, subframes and 3 point Willians harnesses to my mate whos got my old Gti6 road car and he's turning it into a track car :-).

I then purchased the Sparco bucket seat from Kev Jones's track rallye that was sold recently to Ross. The subframes that they came with it didnt give me enough room to fit the seat around the cage and still be driveable so i purchased some nice alloy adjustable ones which after an evening tonight of farting about and having the seat in and out about 6 times i got there in the end.

Also purchased 2x set of 4 point Willians Harnesses to use. I did have some 3 point Willians ones but where the V is behind the seat where it goes from 2-1 always was really tight to the back of the seat because my harnessed pick up off the roll cage.

no updates for a while as im off to California!

In what respect?

Welshpug, no not really, just because my harnesses fit onto the cage rather than pick up the old rear seatbelt or similar space was tight which made the 3 point a bit tight as the 2-1 section was pretty tight up against the rear of the seat where they go though.

The 4 point takes this problem away as they can run straight back to the cage. Hope that makes sence

It looks like there is a gap under the front foot of the cage, shouldn't it be fully boxed in?
6 point harness ftw all day long

Cool

Well should be a box fabbed and welded to the floor out of 3mm with captives.

5 or 6 points, always nice to have a gentle cupping whilst driving lol.

The front and main hoop is adapted OMP with the flat feet raised off the floor requiring boxes underneath.

I'm sure it's just the angle of the photo and something like acoustic carpet covering it. Pictures on page 16 show them.

It is proper boxed in guys. It isn't just hanging there. I carpeted the whole front section. Look back at like page 5 where the car is a bare shell and you can see the mounts of the a pillar

Welsh pug, you see in the second pic ive just added you can spot the horizontal harness bar for each seat.

That's about a foot behind the back of a bucket seat, on a 3 point you've obviously got 2 straps that go over your shoulder then behind the seat they stitch into one. Well there isn't much room for that setup on my car and a 4 point works miles better

    6 point works even better, I wasn't discussing 3 vs 4!

I have six points fitted but to be fair i very rarely use all six. I will when on track though. That cage is awesome a proper Satchell special!

no more a ballache than a 4 point, and far more secure, much less bruising next time you stack it.

Yeah man, should be a cracking day! Happy to take anyone out as passenger.

I'm busy also building/helping my mate on his 205 track car which will be here too. Satchell rear coilovers, full front suspension setup and we've just taken out the standard gti6 engine on jenveys I'm favour for a 250hp na lump.

Need to get it all back together and down to sandy for mapping and Oulton should be its first day out.
