Update:

Today I took the cover off my car to show it to someone, then later I put it back on. That is all.

Hyper Best update ever! LOL

When you have done your sump baffle setup do you think you will be supplying them for other people?

I doubt it, it's over complicated and fiddly. If I can find a better way then yeah, but the current incarnation is a one off, sorry.

No problem, didnt think you would be too interested as it looks like it takes ages to sort out. Let me know if you change your mind though. Smile

Sorry Chris Razz not if my evil Boss has his way LOL I've been made a pretty busy chap for the forseeable future, I may have to put off my plans for some time to come. Work is insane at the moment. But I hope to get some serious work done once the car is moved to a new location at my folks house as it will much easier to get things done there than at work, its either that or I go flexi time on it and start an hour early four days a week and take four hours on a Friday afternoon each week to progress it, but I cant see that working very well if Im doing it on work premises as there are too many opportunities for people to come and involve me in work related actions, we'll see.

Not done much to the race car for ages but I have done a little to the China in case she has to go...

First was to replace the knackered cheapo wishbones with genuine ones as this happened twice...

As I hadn't got around to doing the cooler I thought now was the time, so out with the shiny shiny!

Then knock up some brackets to mount the cooler on the rubber bobbins...

Then I made up the braided hoses, for those of you that haven't done these they are a bit of a c**t to work with but worth the effort I think.

Then fill with Purple Rich-bas**rd oil and hope nothing leaks...

Good to see this going... But oil cooler infront of an intercooler.. spesh a half height one.. detonation is your enemy with high compression forced induced engines. More so at lower revs when air speed is lower.

Flip it round so the oil cooler is behind it..

yeah that intercooler looks tiny, is that normal on the low boost setups or is there a reason for this one being smaller? mine is huge compared to that.

lovely work Jim Thumbs up, shame you dont want to do any of the work on mine, you could make a fortune LOL

That's the normal size, if it's any bigger it's probably one for high boost but doesn't really matter. One less thing to change if you go high boost.

don't think the standard low boost map runs very well with the larger cooler

I thought the issue with the bigger intercooler with low boost was the volume of air inside, causing less stable idle. Dunno

I could be talking crap though. Laugh

No you are correct. The map was changed to make the rpm at idle slightly higher Yes
