have you remembered to take into account the spacer that sits between the pump and the block, its only 1.5mm or so though.

Sure have thanks, I've allowed for more like 4mm as I intend to run with a thicker shim to help reduce the pump-chain slap.

Yep Roll eyes although if you just close the gatevalve on the Accusump you can run the system with the standard ammount of oil if you wanted to. It's just that you would'nt have the added protection that the Accusump offers.

The expense, and it would only be worth it if I was dropping the engine right down to the floor. But then the subframe, wishbones and the gearbox would need to be custom made as the geometry would be all wrong and the driveshafts would shit themselves unless I got a touring car style upside down gearbox.

Not much to see really, been busy on other things. I've nearly finished the sump baffle kit now so pics will be on shortly. However the car is such a pain to get at where it's currently living I can't be arsed with the faff of nearly half an hour to get it out and the same again to put it back at the end of a long day. So work is pretty much halted for the moment.

Plan is to move it to my parents garage where there is plenty of room to work on it in the warm and dry and I can just pick up on it anytime without interrupting work in progress at my propper job Wink

Whenever Dad fixes the shed roof and sorts out a hard standing to put the car on, so not right away. I can still get on with building the engine up and sorting out a few bits and bobs in the mean time though.

Me too but I am welding up rusty trucks on evenings and weekends now and it's tough to work up the enthusiasm to crawl under a rusty Pug and do more of the same in my spare time (when I get any)Thumbs down

Not updated for a while as there has been nothing done lately but I did a bit this week so here goes.

Progress on the sump baffle...

Some lugs welded into the supm to hold the baffle box...

These are the gates that will allow oil to flow towards the pickup but not away from it...

I also got a decent new Gazeebo with some corporate printing on it for work and for p*ssing about with cars, unfortunately the lettering is'nt stuck down too well in places so it's going back for them to re do it but I think it looks very smart.

Saw this and thought of you Big grin (I added the 6 of course)

Finally, I added the second louvre in the nearside wing, fitted the dash bar, welded up a load of holes in the floorpan and finished fitting the driver and passengers side door bar gussets.

I have become a bit obsessive with it after watching the beating they take in the BTCC.

Nothing to report, was planning on doing a fair chunk over the xmas break instead of watching telly. But the heater matrix has let go on the China shitbox so I'll be doing that instead (It will be the first time I've removed a dash and then had to put it back after! Not looking forward to that!)
