Better order some more shipping boxes actually Doh

Guessing the available top braces are still a bit on the naff side then?

Got any pics? Don't really understand what you mean by honeycomb.

I can make the ends for the strut plates much better basically, with a honeycomb core and steel or carbon wrapped skin over it - any shape/size I need rather than using set tube bends, etc, and match the stock strut crown rather than making it out of thin flat plate to let it deform when it's bolted down like the others do.

Not sure that made it any clearer to me but sounds impressive. And who doesn't like honeycomb, tasty!

What sort of cost would we be looking at?

Depends how fancy they go, cheapest way would be nylon ends with steel inserts under the bolts, and a steel or ally tube between them, most expensive would be a CFRP honeycomb sheathed in carbon fibre with stainless steel bolt inserts and carbon tube linking them....but I imagine somewhere between the two.

Basically something like this, where the honeycomb is custom shaped to the strut top dome, so we can make a nice thick, stiff endplate by skinning it carbon or steel as we don't need it to bow down to match the top like the thin steel ones, so it should work out far, far stiffer and being mainly a skin over the core still keeps it light, but I'm just playing with idea's atm:

And you can see what I mean about having the proper shape to the underside:

Do you have 'proper' top mounts that mount to the top side for more damper travel?
I can alter the cores to suit individual cars if need be, makes things easier than set sizes and jigs!

Had a look on the bay and there is certainly a lot more choice now than there was in 2012 when I was looking for one. Hard to know whether the bay pics are of the 306 version or some generic pic, and I'm a bit particular about design. I've got a KD one on my car now which is the best design I could find, but it is still a bit crude although I cleaned it up a bit. Crucially it has no pivot points and is almost straight with no big curves or bends, all of which make a big difference to stiffness.

Your design looks better than any of the commercially available ones. If you end up making these, I could well be interested.

Might be a slight delay, 406 just decided to set fire to itself Doh

On the upside, the boot is full of another batch of steel

I would be very careful with the top braces some 306s strut tops are rounded and not flat

Uppers I'll have a prototype in carbon of to show once the 406 is back moving.
Lowers are made out of recycled toilet rolls.
