name says it all.. kindof

just wondering if anyone knows off the top of their head or with some research. how much force can a track rod end take?

im thinking of using some in a exo-suit/powerloader im making for th ehip joints. they seem tough enough but it would be nice to know what kinda strain they could take

thanks in advance
jim

They can take 2 aliens at up to 45* angle, or one brood mother but only up 12.5 degrees.

You can't get enough headcrabs on to brake one so pretty much all you can eat there.

two 24v reclining chair linear actutors powered by a 12v 7ah lead acid battery going through a 12-24v step up transformer and various bits of box steel.

not quite sure on exact force....some guy on another forum said 1800-2500N of force per actuator.
each one managed to lift me up n down no problem and i weigh about 70kilos.

the actuators force is magnified down due to the placement on the limbs. but each leg is still tough enough to push me and the suit up and down.

more than enough force to snap a limb if something goes wrong Smile

thanks for the comical input....but any ideas what kinda force it would take to break or pop out a ball joint from a 306 or similar car.

I don't think asking the 306 gti 6 and rallye forum on how much force a track rod end is going to take, will yield you Any answers. Maybe try asking a manufacturer or try smoking less crack Thumbs up

Jimmy the track rod ends are going to be stronger than that exo skeleton most definitely. Unless you're planning on lifting cars I think you'll be ok. I'd hazard a guess that they'd be able to take at least a 100kg load!

I'd say 500kg a piece easy, in shear. They won't like being over articulated with lots of weight on them though.
