I have done a couple of 205 ones. Piece of p**s and work well. Corsa B is the better column to use imo.________________________________________ How to do a clicky: click here remove the space between [url & = |

Is there difference between corsa c and b? I have a c column. the thing that attracts me to it is that it's adjustable so can turn it off if wanted |

Ok a little update ....I've received my Vauxhall second hand Corsa B electric powersteering & Power ajustment knob / small box ...The kits below & all looks straight forward enough apart from the obvious ignition barrel etc .. I'm going to have to buy a Momo Vauxhall Steering boss now to fit it The ECU box is on the bottom left of the picture/ metal & black plastic ....it's easy enough to find a place out of site for it Uses 50amp fuse supplied Day666 has attached the following image: |

I've already worked out how the original Column Stalks will fit ..easy enough & they can be moved closer to the steering wheel with this method ...I have a wheel spacer see & the indicators are 30mm to far away for my liking ....I have had a simple idea to make a simple triangle spacer adaptor plate to bolt onto my original column support bracket because the angle of the Corsa B PAS if different to 306 standard one .. Pics to follow soon with prototype ....this way it just bolts on without having to remove the dash or Column support & can be removed for easy access .. Spare Column support bracket below used for making Spacer adaptor ...ill make a template out of cardboard first ...then Metal with x4 welded bolts after I'm happy the angle & idea is good .... Picture below of Adjustable PAS Electric power steering knob ....Will fit Nicely on the Fibreglass dash ..don't buy Ebay ones ..they burn out ! The good thing is I will be able to design & fix my steering wheel angle to what I want ......it needs to come down 40mm as it is now & angle down a little Day666 has attached the following image: |

Twangy wrote: keep us posted to show how you get on damien , and what you think off steering m8 I've been told even on the lightest assist setting its still far to light ? If that's the case I will just turn it off if I'm not on the road or driving it up Prescott where I needed it so bad ....fingers crossed ... I'm hoping as I have a phase 1 2.4 turn rack fitted it may be better ? This won't be fitted or really happening for 2-3 weeks as I've loads to do other than the car & I will start making the Bracket end of the week .. I will post as soon as I have product .... Not as quick as I normally do ...but sadly other things on at the mo |

Ideally I wanted half the assist of the Hydralic pump standard one It will stay on Mine as I really need it for the MOT /Road & Prescott ....a little steering assist at Combe wouldn't go a miss either My MOT tester couldn't turn the wheel of drive it unless it was moving ...Sandy struggled getting it onto the Rolling road ...just a pain without PAS ... You feel the track better but at a cost of feeling like you've done a few rounds of Boxing .... |

Yea, it's a risk it'll be too light. Whatever I do I'll make sure it's reversible so I can put a standard column back in if I want to.I only want a bit of assistance, I get knackered in the car after a stint sometimes and would like a little bit of help. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

You have the other trouble too with a race car - if you're on sticky enough slicks you can overpower them and the unit will switch off. Good for puckering seats mid corner. Mind I think you'd struggle to mount something wide and sticky enough on a 306.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. They have two wires into ajustable switch ....orange small ignition on /off switch feed & (+) permanent into ajustable switch then from the ajustable switch three wires ( brown / White / Green ) with white plug in picture to ECU ... The Blue plugs just 50amp feed (+ & - ) into ECU Into ECU the Green plug & black small plug in picture is from PAS steering itself Day666 has attached the following image: |

im guessing there is some extra electronics in the box with the switch pot, as it needs to produce a varying frequency pulse to feed to the PAS ecu, this is for speed ref to enable the varying assistance |

All I was told was all the switch does is the same as you said with speed ....the faster you go the less assistance it would normally give on original car & the switch overrides this & keeps it from changing if it was in the original car ... Freq Pulse sounds familiar It changes it with MAGIC |

the corsa has several assistance maps in the ecu dependant on V/speedim guessing the switch just picks one of them via frequency pulse or off just found a very good page on how to make it progessive without the switches http://www.super7thheaven.co.uk/blog/corsa-c-electric-power-steering-epas/ |

My 106 hydraulic pump is still providing resistance and feedback. Bit I run a lot of castor on the front. I would assume you will gain more feedback and resistance of you had added castor also on the corsa column. |

I'm sure I read somewhere that the knuckle works with a 306 one? Maybe it was a 205________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |
