Don't fancy doing a lid for a standard battery box do you Damien I'm sure that is long gone on your car Keep up the good work, during these strange times I thinks it great to have an interest that gives me something to do around the house, that also gets me out of the house if you know what I mean, |

Lots going on at mo ...sadly the Mrs dad passed away with Covid and I’ve been working late and long weekends away ..First time I’ve had a chance to get out and work on the car ... Cut the bumper Radiator vents out and sanded down the edges ....as you may know it’s made of Carbon Kevlar mixed weave and I can tell you that Kevlar is a nightmare to cut / sand ... |

I ended up leaving the frayed ends and mixed some clear Two pack epoxy and painted it on the frayed edges and I’ll sand them down when dry tomorrow |

Yep really pleased with it and the flexible extension....sadly it started sounding funny and slowed down ..think I nearly over heated it yesterday with the Permagrit bits .... I clear epoxied all the edges and lightly sanded the edges today ...it’s the only way to seal and stop fraying Kevlar I’ve found |

Update but Nothing very exciting Some of you may or may not of noticed that in post (3063) -two posts back -that the Grill support tabs on each side didn’t have the half round shape like the centre has ? This was because I thought the centre one would be enough but on fitting it to the car and almost standing on it to see it flex the left and right flat tabs in the grill I didn’t cut out made a massive difference over the prototype we did the same to .... Basically I’m trying to get away without using any support rods on the splitter and if I have to only two ... Close up pic below of the sides and uprights missing ....no half rounds |

I can hopefully start tidying it up and filling a few areas etc ...I personally think -it’s the little details that all add up to make the difference .... |

Not been on for a bit because works so busy and I’m doing 12hr days and 10hr weekends sadly ...Anyway decided to have a play with the bonnet cutout around the Maxi Air in take . The bonnet needs to be approxly = 1inch higher under side and with being a twin skin bonnet means the outside will have a slight bulge and shape which hopefully if it works out correctly will blend into the rest of the bonnet ? First thing first ruin a good bonnet |

You can’t really see from the pic below but the tapped orange /reddish centre is approx 1inch higher now Dont panic -keep calm and just work my way through it step by step and I need to order more Body filler to get the blend and shape 100% Also order loads more Epoxy and Fibreglass matting for making the shape so I can remove the raised centre once the fibreglass is dry ....it needs to have 4-5 layers of fibreglass matting Plenty of work to do yet |
