Hopefully the dash is going to be super thin lightweight Carbon fibre like my (Cartek centre console pic below) with clear coat 2k Satin finish rather than gloss ...that’s the plan at mo ... This is going to be Satin soon rather than gloss to match the dash so no sunlight will reflect |

Thank you Joep ...I’m hoping mucker ...I’m getting somewhere now and can see light at the end of the tunnel ...focused as they say and know what direction I’m firmly going with maybe a few small changes on the way ..only small The issue up-to now has been I want to do this but really I should do that and how about if I do this and then what happens if it doesn’t work ? I’ve even wrote on my things to do board (DONT THINK TO MUCH ANYMORE) it’s expensive and timely |

I may or may not can’t remember if I’ve posted something like this before ?I just had a good chat with a close friend who races at Combe and he said why are you spending stupid money that I’m working silly hrs for killing myself to put into a car I’m not going to even race and it’s a waste for track days My honest reply was obsessed obsession ....honestly it’s sadly taken on a bloody life of its own .....it’s not needed not sensible and to be frankly honest stupid and the worst thing is I’m not deluded and know it’s but bloody mental Many of you may or may not know I went through a big expense split 10years ago and I was in a dark bad dangerous place I was always into show cars and Competion cars doing all my own work be it very old 1974 Minis or BMW Alpina I owned . I bought the 6 in 2012 for £1k off a friend and I guess the obsessive only child came out and it’s taken over my bank balance and life since ... I am in my messed up head ....trying to future proof it as much as possible and stop wasting so much money over the next 8yrs like I have upgrading over the years trying to get the car quicker ... So I’m saving to get the car where I want it to be Like I said I’ve got the vision and focus now and I can see light at the end of the tunnel ....that’s two more years away though What ever happens it will compete in something ...be it sprints / hill climb ... agreed it’s a total waste of money I’ll never get back even stripping it and for just track day fun a total waste ..even if I’m upsetting loads of more expensive But I’m enjoying it still so hay ho ...it keeps me going in these terrible times recently.... |

The most and i.m.o. only important thing is that you enjoy the build! Hobbies just cost money Working on cars is like meditation to me. Just clears my mind of every worry from daily life. Who cares what others think, you could be snorting it up your nose or p**sing it against a wall and that would be a waste and you'd have nothing to show for it, look at what you have, doesn't matter what it's worth its what it's worth to you, keep at it a feck the begrudgers |

Funny you mention Drugs though my Misses bosses daughter just met a right piece of work who’s a Coke head and minted but the Drug Driving and Drink Driving upsets me massively as I lost a close friend Keith years ago to a Drug Driver I just guess all this madness with COVID has got me and friends thinking too much and yes I know where I’m going and as long as I’m breathing it’s going to get there ... |

Right then Back on track These Dashes will be for sell through Maxi Motorsport/ Tony Palfrey They are £225.00 plus vat / free delivery to UK and Ireland only unless you pay full carriage ... And are super lightweight X4 sold already excluding mine so x5 and a limited no of x10 will be made at present no more plans for more at mo .. After a long and hard chat we have finally managed to get the price down on the mk2 Fibreglass (Race Dashes) with extension centre section so when your harnessed in you can reach your switches ... (Remember this is no good for standard clocks / heater dials / stereo / dials ...) it’s a proper race car dash This is for Digital Dash and all bespoke switches and clocks but had been made narrower to pass Roll cages fitted and can be made quick release then to get to everything behind the dash You need to make all your own fixings and for people with Cages it fairly simple ... Let me know if anyone on here other than Mike Bland and David Warren and Ross are interested ((((( Pic below not trimmed just out of the mould they are 20x better than my original one I got made 6 years ago whole level better )))))) Mike Bland should have his to Trial and take pics late this week just incase you want someone else’s to look at |
