hello like minded people,

Bought my first gti-6 just under a week ago. Wanted one since I could drive but couldn't afford one...and still cant as i'm getting married in 6 months. never mind.

first job was remove the ridiculous exhaust. bought centre and back box from pug_306 so set about it in the rain this morning. which took me all of 15 mins because someone has welded the centre silencer to the cat. now looking for a used, standard cat or a buyer for the centre exhaust section lol.
car sounds 100x better with standard back box.

The monstrosity! Had Syrians crawling out of it all week.

Standard issue strut brace

Still not insured so its just sitting at the moment. not for long tho

You'll need to host pics on somewhere like photobucket and then post the links to the pics you wish to use.

Also it's known as platinum silver Wink

Just got back under her to see again about the centre exhaust section. It wasn't welded together, just repaired either side of the joint.

I got the old centre silencer section down and put the new one up into place...it didn't fit the cat!
The new piece has too small a diameter pipe where it joins the cat. Not sure if the new pipe I've got is wrong or the cat on my car isn't a standard one...either way, it's now leaking from that joint after fitting the old centre pipe back on.
Can I use paste or something on it to seal it better?

Is this a standard amount of distance from the jointing flange?
