Put the car back together checked all the tourque ratings and all.

I replaced everything on the front end except for the hubs the CVs / drive shafts, calipers and the origional wheels.

Went to go for the first drive and it just feels unstable, and seems to skid, i think there is a nocking sounds as well ehen turning. not sure if the new brakes are just grabing the wheel for the skidding, could it just be a wheel alignment or is something worse happening, anyone have any ideas?

Not clear as to what youve changed

but i recently did the same to mine set to torque tuns out wasnt tight enough pushed every thing just passed torque and my clonking noise stopped also didnt help having crap on my disc s drove on and carefully wore the crap of the brakes sorted go back tighten all again if you used thread lock can make adifference to torque value so be careful

My bad, replaced struts, springs, top mounts, wish bones, ball joints, drop links, inner and outer tie rods.

Ball joints correct size for hub ?
Is all clamped correctly
and it will seem a bit skitty at the front of mine still is but slowly settling in
im guessing all original parts or oe spec?
does it knock whenstanding still turning or just when in motion

Just in motion while turning, the car is fresh out of the factory, ball joints correct as i had the wrong one first and they just drop out. All parts are meyle and sasic (?)

Tire pressure is quite low if that makes a difference.

You should get it aligned at the garage mate
how did your drive shafts look when you had it dismantled where they floppy
although it does sound like somethings not tight enough can you get a vid posted of the noise

I can this afternoon, ill get an alignment done asap, drives looked fine rubber is still great on them one did fall out in the process and i have replaced the trasmission oil.

Pulled out the short one a ! I managed to everytime always keep spare seals to hand
how did your arb bushes look
mine are about tobe changed playing with everything else upset them willwait for your vid fella

Actually i either got luck or you really need to pull the short one to get it out the passenger side one fell out when all i had was the hub attached.

My 2p worth
My guess
front suspension cups & spacers fitted wrong on Suspension top refits ?....that would cause this problem ...it's easy done...
Are you 100% sure it's correct ?

Bloody difficult to find what's causing it unless you take out everything you've done Crazy

no i am not 100%,
all i did was get the top mount in a bag and secure the bolt through it the right way up.

ARB bushes look fine, i would like to replace them but add it to a weekend project or next years list.
i swear that said ABS bushes first and it had me thinking for a bit.

just doing some really basic research, i think my main problem is steering and something that is quite obvious in the problem / solution scenarios is i might just need some power steering fluid.

but that would not fix the clunk and locking of the wheels.

^^^^^^^^^. Look at pic above ......You haven't put the suspension bearings upside down ...seen that & they move & clunk ....
God know why wheels are locking up....Welshpug ?????

If you brought as a set as i did for shipping they had put the bearing in the wrong way updid you fit as per picture

the entire top mount came pre built, i dont think it had part 9 possibly didnt have 7 either, the bottom rotates fine no problems and it sits perfectly into the mounting holes on the body.

I have SPAX RSX suspension if this makes a difference, the piston just goes through the top mount and secure with the bolt it came with. i'll find my other post that has the suspension in it.

in motion the wheels seem to drag along the ground, since we have the brains trust on this one,
the pads i received for my VIN had cables running off them whereas my old ones didn't should i just cut them off? for now they are tucked away and not interfering with anything.
