Is this possible? I've fitted my cage which dogleg in front of the dash.

It looks impossible but I've welded in the cage so I also can't remove it

Do you want to remove it to save weight?

If so - perhaps cut it out.

I suspect your only option will be to cut the dash to allow it to pass the cage.

When I did this, I cut the end off the dash, to then e ale to pull that end clear of the cage, and then wiggle the other end out.

Although having said that, I may have cut the other end also... hmmm.

Either way, I did what I needed to do, and stuck the end back on afterwards.

It's a bolt in, but I've welded the feet as whoever I bought it off had welded it and some extra bars.

I managed to get the dash out of the spare car without cutting it but it was a serious squeeze. Undo as much stuff as you can, heater matrix pipes etc. Then it was a case of moving each side to check it was loose and starting to pull it out. Essentially I had to pull one side as far as it would go (I think the passenger's side) then levering the driver's side out.

It didn't quite come out intact as one of the mounting points snapped out but it did come out in the end. Took me 2 months of irregular trying to get it done though!

I think I'm going to chop it. I was hoping to put the fuses and stuff where the airbag is on the passenger side but I think that idea is out the window.

Is it worth removing the heating matrix and fans? How much does that save?

saves a bit but you need a heater for the window, it's a nightmare otherwise

I'm not the most patient of person so I reckon it wouldn't go back in till about 2016 after I lose patience with it. I think its staying in to be honest.

Unless you have to, I'd recommend leaving it in. It was a crap job and I'm not looking forward to putting it all back in!
