Once it's fixed i promise not to break it again, Could this be a fuel issue due to all the flooding round hear I've heard a couple having issues recently ? ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

The only useful thing about resetting the ECU is that the stepper goes to the slightly open position, from where the engine can be started. It does nothing more. |

I have had a doggy sensor somewhere so wondered if the reset would clear the faulty data up the ecu has been receiving , or are they not that sophisticated ? ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

Yeh I'm pretty sure a reset will clear the codes, but if there's still a dodgy sensor on there it'll pick it up as soon as the sensor plays up. |

Right i replaced the lambda did a ecu reset on it, no difference so i changed the ecu over and it seems to be behaving a lot better which makes me think that possibly the ecu that was supplied with the cams possibly has been remapped , unfortunately whilst poking about the starting issue started creeping back i wondering if this is a problem with the loom has its seen better days. Is it possible to replace the loom with the engine still fitted in the car ? ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

Sounds like a dodgy loom, I reckon it can be done in situ... Just be patient as I reckon you'll end up with grazed knuckles lol!________________________________________ Team Running Engine again!Team Negative Camber! My Budget track engine build thread! Now appearing at a Trackday near you!! |

Since replacing the lambda sensor and doing the ecu reset the cars worst than ever it now holding back loads plus judders loads on deceleration and started misfiring like it was hitting the rev limiter at 5k when I tried to put my foot down . I'm so tempted to set fire to this car ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

Are you sure this isn't literally just because the aftermarket cams are in it and it's not timed up properly?________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

I've got a spare MAP sensor I keep in the driver's door you could try.In fact, you could try various sensors as long as they go back on my car at the end. Could have a listen to exhaust as well. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Cheers No I'm going to try that tonight along with the tps, is it just a case of unplugging it and running it to see if its better ? Hmm I might try your spare map sensor retro i don't think we should tempt fate by taking parts of yours and trying them on mine , put thanks for the offer, I'm about Saturday if you want to pop down to hear the exhaust unless i fix this tonight . ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

Might take you up on that! Will PM you nearer the time. Oh, and could an air leak somewhere be causing this? You could test for one by removing the air feed tube/pipe for the ICV and blocking the inlet of the ICV with your thumb. If there are no air leaks anywhere around the manifold/TB it will stall, if it doesn't stall, air is getting in somewhere else. I'm not sure this would be the cause of all your problems but maybe worth a go. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

I know unplugging the power steering sensor is fine, I ran it for months like that just had to rev a bit more when parking etc no biggie. Not sure about unplugging the TPS though but worth a try while you're there, whether it'll run at all without it plugged in, someone else will have to verify. |
