It is sigma and has nowhere for the wiper motor to go.

Going to be a long-term this and more in-depth than I've done before.

    Good point Lee Yes

    Must be Paul's one then going by the posts in that thread. Dont get the lack of wiper motor room though, thought that was only the case when the cage goes through to strut tops too? Doesnt seem to be the case in those pictures. Could be wrong though, I am half blind Laugh

    Yep, goes to the strut tops! Bars going to the strut tops are painted black tho so difficult to see in the picture!Yes

    Yep it's that shell and yes the cage goes to the strut tops Smile
    It has one brake line in it at the moment and that's it, the blaze is half murdered ready to provide the parts.

    Need a lexan rear screen, loads of time and patience. I have none LOL

    Keeping a Peugeot engine or something totally different like a vw 1.8 turbo? always thought that would be a straightforward way of getting 280bhp. look forward to seeing this done

    Eddy you have to buy the right one, there are literally 100s of different iterations.

    Yes but unlikely at the moment. There is a lot to do without complicating it further. And I have 3x gti6 engines looking forlorn

    s3 engine is good for a reliable 350bhp with standard internals turbo injectors. seems to me like a fairly easy way of getting a very fast 306. but I'd not do it for the reason I want to still have an xu. Adam good luck with this i owned it for a shiort while before Kevs rallye came up for sale. it's a very solid shell and with a few bits will be a serious weapon on track

    I wouldnt bother with audi/VW engines unless using the newer 2.0l engines. I recon t5 would be the better option but then again evo engine ftw Wink

    So i've been chopping up the dash a bit (its still going to be a road car 80% of the time) and what with airbags, interior wiring and various other lumps i'm down about 14kg already. I'm expecting the difference in weight on the seats along with removing the ABS to make up for the added cage weight. Using an e36 battery relocation kit taken from a work mate's car that was usefully rear ended before Christmas.

    Thinking about it the lexan all round and the modification on the tailgate will also reduce the weight considerably - there was a big difference between the Blaze doors and the already modified Sigma ones.

    Waiting on a phase 1 airbox + blower + controls to start installing the dash, further chopping will be required. Then the main engine wiring loom can be installed, although the hole in the bulkhead isn't where it should be due to the cage. Hope that isn't too difficult to sort LOL

    Should be able to start on the brake lines and both handbrakes soon, but time is pretty limited due to Autosport in the next two weeks. Major issues still outstanding are the wipers, roofskin and interior bars that need welding in. Then a bit of mucking about with spring rates and alignment settings can commence. Sometimes its very useful having corner weighting scales and a hunter alignment machine to use in work Wink

    Finally managed to get over the Harry Bucklands yesterday to see what was in there. Found a phase 1 which promptly(ish) had its dash ripped out and heater box removed and a ZX which became a wiper mechanism donor.

    After tempting Welshpug back to mine with cheese sandwiches we battled with the bloody bulkhead grommet on the heater box (bought a new matrix in the ECP sale) and finally fitted it. As we felt we hadn't had quite enough fun I thought it would be a great idea to fit the dash. It didn't quite go to plan with both my angle grinder and jigsaw dying on me but its sort of fitted, just don't mention the different gaps either side. I now need to buy a new angle grinder so I can connect the engine loom - the pedal box is in the way.

    On a better note the braking system is getting there slowly. Had to change the lines that came in the shell but give it an hour and it should be sorted. Was going to run braided fuel lines but decided to keep the standard setup for the time being - seems daft as I can be running the car whilst sorting that out in the future.
