sadly the 405 failed it's test Sad

excessive pedal travel when braking. i must still have air in system, as car actually passed on the brake test.

not a biggie. i've tidied my garage and now the 405 is out of the cold, and in there for the winter.

meanwhile, my new project will keep me occupied Thumbs up

just a little update.

after some research, i found that when i turn on the ignition, the abs pump should be heard working for a couple of seconds. the pump on my car made no sound at all No

as i had a spare unit, i decided to swap it over. so now i have a working pump Big grin

just need to rebleed the system now Thumbs up

i can understand now how air was still trapped in them.

just need to rebleed the front.

With abs and a dry system, I always found it helpful to cycle the abs on grass or gravel then bleed one last time. Smile always found a little bubble somewhere!

PESKY M/C !!! must of been internally leaking

genuine new m/c now fitted, and brakes bled (even ran car in gear on axle stands and dabbed brakes, just to make sure there wasn't a spongy pedal)

turns out, i had bled brake system properly initially, but dodgy m/c gave the feeling there was still air in system.

in for m.o.t this week, and am confident it will pass
