So, I've been toying with the idea of selling my car, due to personal circumstances there's just no chance I'll be able to drive it for a couple of years or so, and I'd rather not see it rust into nothingness in my garage.

Let's get one thing clear upfront though right - I will *not* be breaking it; I don't have the time nor the inclination, I'd just keep it. So you can save your "I'll take the valve caps if you decide to break", it's not happening.

The problem I have is that I'd want a realistic price, so I'd never give it away for a silly amount. However (having had chats with a couple of people on here, you know who you are) you never know who's after what, so thought I might as well ask. I've added up the rough price for if I got going rate for all the parts second-hand, and it comes in at about £3.5k - that's assuming I sold every major part which I'm aware is unlikely to happen, but that's a guide. I've not included the shell and engine in the price, they'd basically get thrown in for free with the parts. Buy car parts, get a free car?

Anyone out there looking to build themselves a 306 for track who'd like to save themselves a boatload of time and effort by buying the lot up all at once? At the moment it drives and is an already awesome car, no need to have it trailered anywhere; come April the MOT and tax are up and it'll become altogether harder to shift around. At the moment it's an awesome track machine which needs no work whatsoever. Could possibly benefit from a new steering pump (which I have), but that's only ever an issue at startup, so I've not bothered yet.

The work I've done to it is all in my project thread and to reiterate - don't bother offering me £1k for it, as I won't sell it for that. I can post up the list of bits if anyone's genuinely interested, thought I'd test the water first though.

Finally, apologies for what is essentially a "gathering interest" thread, which I loathe. I hope you can appreciate this is a little more than the standard "GI: Selling my wiper blades" bullcrap that all too often blights the General section.

Question mark.

Listy list list:

On top of that there's obviously the car itself; shell has been completely stripped and the sunroof has been welded up, plenty of room for a crash helmet. The engine has done about 160k but has had a complete rebuild, I have all the receipts for that.

I also have a tonne of spares - various bolts, droplinks and such.

You deserve a -1 as this is solely a ploy to get people to read your track car thread. Thumbs down

I too am in the same position mate, i cant always get in the car over the cage (knee doesnt always bend fully) plus always busy at work/home i dont get chance to use it, would rather see someone else have the use but as i've spent a small fortune i dont want to give it away and really dont want to pull it apart

Really enjoyed reading your project thread, makes a large task seem less complex and gives you confidence to do it yourself instead of paying a garage to do the job! Shame your selling up but GLWTS, and agreed, someone will get a great little track car Smile

Thought about that, until I remembered how I've driven every rental car I've ever had.
