Oh well to make life easier a silly woman shunted my gti6 today while I was at work, the sun was in her eyes and her
Window misted up so she was wiping it with no vision and drove straight into it.
quarter panel has been distorted, the corner of rear valance is slightly bent and the floor is slightly bent in the corner.
she's admitted blame but I'm not sure what to do now other than take a payout and strip it and abuse the parts or sale section.
Gutted is an understatement.

Sorry to hear this mate Sad

Is the car insured for an agreed value?if so surely you have a chance of having it repaired?

If not i'd buy it back for salvage value/part payout and just get it repaired as its one nice car Cool

    it's insured for 5k
The damage isn't bad to look at, till you notice the slight crease/warp in the Quarter panel.
The damage to the floor isn't bad but it's still there.

Is anybody on this forum able to do a repair through the insurance?

I have her details and 2 witnesses who said her window was so misted up they couldn't see through it and couldn't tell if anybody was even in it.

I left it outside guy i work fors house, I should of known something was wrong when his wife rung saying I'd blocked the drive, I told him I hadn't and we agreed it was just because a woman was looking at it.

When we got back the car was across his drive, 6 foot from where I parked it, just think if id put it in gear and pulled the handbrake up another notch it would of been even more a mess.
She had hit it right in the middle of her car from what I seen when I got home and went to her house, what's she done drove off down road totally blind with a steamed up window, morning sun glaring and drove straight into the back of a parked car Laugh my ass off :
    But Angry

The silly b**ch is lucky it wasn't another hour later when kids was walking to school 100 yards away Shock

    Mate this is just aweful.

Literally my heart dropped when I saw that the thread was in your name and I was SO looking forward to seeing how the graph was when mapped.

I would have thought it was with 8k + though ??
Its easily the most high spec one on this site until birk finishes his dimma.

    She's admitted blame, plus witnesses?

Then do a 'Braymond' and get it properly fixed on the insurance's dollar?

Got to be less than the agreed £5k value?

Gutted for you mate. It is sad to hear this stuff, after so much time money and effort for building an incredibly nice car, some reckless people just take a few seconds to destroy all your hard work. Keep positive and get it fixed mate Thumbs up

I really hope you can get this repaired buddy, It's amazing what people are like these days when driving! Idiots!

I dread the thought of the Rallye getting written off if it crashed. I'm sure (depending on damage) you can decline a write off and get it repaired on their insurance if you don't go through yours.
