Oh yea, it was our fault. Not saying it wasn't, just a small mistake which snowballed. The 205 is a write off, gearbox mount was ripped out and chassis legs bent. Shame to end the season this way but we move on and learn ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Really hope you get it sorted Direzzas were fine for that weather, as shown by the Mini that won the class (and is seen spinning in the video) was also on Direzzas. He had a slide at the first corner as well before we tagged him, unfortunately we just had no where to go. Taking it to the bodyshop at the weekend to see how much it'll cost to fix then strip it down. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

It's not a nice feeling and I was pretty gutted when I saw the car (my brother was driving it at the time). You're exactly right Ash, that's the way it goes in racing. I think all of us are the same, our cars are important to us and it sucks when it gets damaged but the reward from racing far outweighs the disappointment at seeing it damaged. Next year is another year and with all the changes over the winter it should be very interesting! ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

And it'll look crap as it won't be smooth enough. I want it to look good, it costs me enough money I don't want to look at it and be disappointed.Probably going to get the silver back painted on this year rather than vinyl. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Thanks very much, it's a nice space to have The cars are called Bonds, they're from the 60s and 70s. The one under the cover is a Bond Equipe convertible and the blue one is a Bond Minicar three-wheeler. We've had the Minicar for 25 years and never done anything with it!The race video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akAO73OK71I ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Started stripping the car down this weekend. Got the engine out and most of the front suspension removed. Not the fastest progress as I was taking time to make sure everything was put somewhere organised so I don't lose bits!On a more exciting note I bought myself some toys: Some progress: The engine bay really needs a good clean: One old engine: "Organised": The scrap pile: Discovered the passenger side sill was also bent which is not ideal: ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

The new engine already has a slimline fan That pile is just stuff that's come off the car as it currently is.I'm making a new wiring loom from scratch as well to try and make it simpler. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Bit more of an update. Pulled pretty much everything else out of the engine bay, now only the clutch / reverse cables and brake servo to go:Also managed to get the dash out. Required a bit of cutting due to the cage so I'll have to tidy that up. Still not sure what to do about the heater matrix. I don't need the weight loss of removing it although it's pretty big. Being able to see where I'm going is useful when the car gets steamed up! Lots of stuff still to remove but it got late and I couldn't be bothered to do any more: Bit of chopping required: The championship I'm planning on entering next year released their first bit of promo material, look who's front and centre (www.trackdaychampionship.co.uk) And in the Tweeks catalogue! ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |
