Morning,It's MOT day and the garage have just called saying its failed on the ball joint and stop light switch. Can anyone advise how easy these are to replace, they've quoted me £80. I know I can get a ball joint for £17.40 on ecp but not sure what there like to fit also I haven't got the lightest idea where the stop light switch is found. |

i think it's right for the brake switchballjoint you just loosen the bolt (16mm or 17mm i think) and smack the wishbone free from the bottom of the hub. you'll need a balljoint splitter and give it a good smashing. having said that i once did it with just a crowbar when i was stranded you'll waste an hour or so of your life but you'll save £60  ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

I'd rather take the engine and gearbox, exhaust and rear frame out of the buggy than p**s about with rusty balljoint nuts and siezed pins in the hubs Sometimes it's a 5 minute job, sometimes it's a lump hammer, chisel, and a sack full of blue air. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Half cages right up to complete custom spaceframes - MSA/FIA spec, CDS, ROPT, T45, etc - PM meEmail me! Custom-made polybushes available - need an odd size or fitment? - anything from batch work to one-off pieces. |
