Hi All,

Due to a change of job, I'm looking to saying "good bye" to my old GTI6 Sad

She's an old 97P Phase 1 Gti6 in white. Sunroof & Non-A/C.

Got 160,000 odd on the clock. The engine head has been rebuilt due to an overheating issue resulting in head-gasket problems.
All sorted now though.

It's had the timing belt done, alternator and a new water pump.
Currently got new front tyres on it too.

The bad things.....

Usual issues with the drivers seat wear. Tatty Cyclones, and a dent in the off-side rear quarter panel.

I think she would make a great track car, or with some TLC, a good restoration project.

Currently on SORN due to my running another car, but it will have a 12 month MOT included.

The problem is that I have NO idea about what it's worth......

Can you guys give a girl an idea about what I should sell it for? (Even Hubby has NO idea about it's value now).......

Didn't want to put up a "for sale" post just yet without getting the advice from the people who know.... YOU! Smile

Thx

Dee

check there is no rust around the sun roof, that will put off a knowlegable buyer.

^^ £600 but nearer £400 if its a rusted sunroof job.(ie more value as a scrapper)

No, supply and demand has done that. Look around at what cars with dents in the rear quater actually sell for

Judging by how you put yourself across on this forum, you're certainly no better than any other member on here..

Well don't make provocative statments on a forum then.

I got offered a white P1 without dents for £350, and the seller had never even heard of this forum...

I broke 10 6s last year.
3 were phase one and far from mint
I didn't pay over 500 for any of them

The value in the above mentioned car is in spares, and 70% of the people that would genuinely want to buy it would be looking at it for a donor car or to break for profit

Rear quarter repair isn't cheap, and would probably cost almost 2/3rds of what you would pay for it
So realistically it's not financially viable is it?

Agree with the above I'm afraid, Not allot but look at any car value these days and you can get allot for a few grand so make's anything over 10 years old almost worthless

Thankfully 205's are on the up now, but 306's are a good 10 years behind them so a good while to wait yet.

WOW!!!

Didn't mean to start a fight LOL

The car has no rust around the sunroof.

I think I'd be very happy with something around the £550 - 600 mark.

I'll stick up a "For Sale" post and see what happens.

As stated though, I personally see the car in its next progression as a track car. The engine/gearbox, suspension etc is in great condition.
For people after a drive queen, a £600 car isn't going to meet your requirements.

The daft thing is that I should market it as 306 gti engine & gearbox: there's 2 (granted, with significantly lower miles) on Ebay for for circa £500!!!

I could advertise mine with free car!! LOL
