Why is everyone so upset about snoopy pics?

As for Owains idea, just let it go dude. Posts hardly ever get removed, and its not that complicated when they do.

what we need is to set up a feedback committee and all attend black tie meetings at big dinner tables like true government bodies and waste f*ckloads of cash in the process of discussing changes to the site

Welly invited me to something like this and when I arrived it was only him there with a crazed look in his eye, some rubber gloves and a snorkle. Still , it was a great meeting and we got lots done, no sex stuff happened.

Not me neither, the only thing I've deleted this week I've deleted because the op asked me to as it was no longer relevant Thumbs up

whatever happened to free speech, especially online.

if it was something racist, offensive, incriminating, rude or whatever, i would understand it being removed but it was just a pic of the baddest mofo that ever lived..snoopy...!

You really have a way with words darling.

Ahhhh the irony!LOL LOL

Anyway I don't really think the site has changed at all to be honest. I do think that some more threads should be protected from deletion as they are genuinely useful (certain brake, engine and suspension ones spring to mind). Maybe there should be a Useful Thread section as they often aren't FAQs as such.

I'm also in favour of keeping useful threads, i have loads of bookmarks of useful threads and now whenever i try to look them up i dont have access anymore, which is annoying as they would have been quite useful.
I can understand why some threads would be deleted over time as some are full of useless info, however some are little goldmines of info.

I don't know the best way of getting round this, maybe something similar to the current report thread thing but where after a few votes it is somehow listed as useful and won't be auto deleted with time?

Seems a shame to lose some really good threads which havent made it to FAQ. Smile

Don't auto-delete threads just because no-one's posted on them in a while?

Yup, what you want is the post replaced (possibly don't bother showing avatars, sigs etc so it's smaller) and replace it with something like:

[removed by Admin - offtopic]
or
[removed by Admin - language]

Good point Owain. It's been suggested and is in the development pipeline already - along with the idea of "thread ghosting" that whenever an entire thread is deleted or moved, a ghost stub remains in the original forum explain why it was moved.

To those who feel they missed out without Snoopy's presence: I deleted them as it made what was had been a relatively productive thread into difficult-to-read rubbish. I would apologise, but I'm not actually sorry so... ummm...

And the irony is, you all wanted more Admin, as you felt there wasn't any! LOL

(Despite Kev and Jim regularly browsing the forums and doing a decent job IMO...Yes)

If I was admin I would have deleted those pictures too for the same reasons as Kev. Its not about expressing yourself, its about reducing clutter.
