So if a well set up car is faster than a R26-R then it should beat the ring record for a front wheel drive car...is that really what people are suggesting?

It's only got the record for the fastest *stock* FWD car, not to say others haven't done quicker but they're modified. It's not all about bhp/tonne, where they make peak torque also counts, hence my v6 rallye with only 202bhp pushing lbsc cars along. It's fairly pointless comparing a heavily modified car with a standard one really. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Firstly, the R26.R doesn't hold that record any more. It was beaten by the new RS Megane Trophy last summer, which went 9 seconds faster (which somewhat destroys your theory of beating that record to be an unachievable feat). Secondly, it held the unofficial (all non-racing lap times are unofficial) FWD production car record, so unmodified.
