Was thinking about this, what would be best for track days. An almost standard honda integra type r for around £4000 for something half decent. Or buy a gti 6 and spend money on suspension and brakes. Can anyone think of any other cars that would be good etc, did think about a seat ibiza cupra turbo, can be tuned to around 260bhp for not very much at all. ________________________________________ TEAM Supercharged Rallye |

EVO 4 mate. Great handling - Turbo Charged. Loads of people around to Map them as well for some extra horses with the correct supporting mods. |

I would say Integra would be the better platform. Even in standard guise, its a great tool. Very stiff chasis, good weight distribution - generates unreasonable mechanical grip. And has an LSD as standard. ________________________________________ Rallye-RNurburgring article |

ITR ftw i went out in Jon's (CUJ) at Llandow and for a standard (ish) car it was quick and i was impressed his is a DC5 and with your budget your probably looking at a DC2 which are a bit slower, trouble with the ibiza yes they are quick in a straight line but im yet to drive 1 that comes close to the 306/309 handling, if its an all out track car i'd go 205/309 with an mi16 or gti6 ________________________________________ All South Wales Members Click HereTeam Supercharged Black RALLYE ™ (Click Here for Build Project) MY EBAY ITEMS 07943066306 |

Leon Cupra R?though for track use have to say a n/a car would be a lot easier to drive quick, so something like a 6 or an integra would do well, or even a civic. beware that the older hondas can rot just as well as anything french... if you dont mind something older I'd personally go 309 with a 16v engine plus some AST's and torsion bars or a coilover rear conversion. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I didn't think the DC5 was any quicker than the DC2 tbh, heavier car but a lot nicer place to be (IMO) than a DC2.The DC2 was often acclaimed as the best front wheel drive hot hatch of its time, I've never driven one so can't comment. I know khj100 (Kev) owned one. There's some good footage of his on YouTube at the Ring. ________________________________________ 340 horses |

pick up a slightly untidy 205 gti6 for around 2 grand, and then spend the last 2k on decent suspension and tyres and you will have a bit of a weapon.________________________________________ 1992 Onyx Black 205 GTI-62005 Honda S2000 (Sold) 2002 Audi S3 (Sold) 2005 Clio 182 Trophy (sold) |

Not really my cup of tea due to it's size and seating position but I was pretty impressed. Expected it to be quicker than the 6 and it wasn't. However they are blinding in the twisties and a fun drive. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |
