well i figured its about time to start a project thread and put up some pictures of the 6 i finally settled for after much debate Big grin

this project is going to be very minimal, nothing exciting planned yet, and nothing to the scale of Jims spectacular build, maybe in a year or so i might begin making some bigger changes but for now im keeping it simple.

so here she is after driving her 250 miles home from Manchester

first thing on the to do list is now in progress, and that is that i have taken it to Rich W at Lynx to have the timing belt kit and waterpump done and a nice set of Rich W pulleys Big grin

then he will diagnose my coolant query which we hope isnt serious Hmm, and are now confident it isnt head gasket.

and a common thing ive seen on here is problems with the balancing on cyclones, i believe i have a similar issue so he will be sorting that out too.

as said in one of my other threads i would strongly recommend going to Rich. he was very good with me today and took the time to go over all of my questions in detail and proved himself to be a real top bloke Thumbs up now cant wait for the call to say i can have her back.

before you say it, i know most project threads people do the work themselves, but i think its best to let someone who knows what hes doing do these first important jobs. im just keeping note of whats being done for future reference. my work on the car begins when i get her back

Looks great on the grey cyclones. Is the front splitter missing as well?

Not all of them had a front splitter, something to do with problems getting them on the transporters I think.

And thanks I love the grey cyclones too

Yeah it is tidy from a distance but up close you can see it has some irritating faults but it's spending some time and money with Rich W so should come back alot better, then the modifications can begin.

On the subject of the drop, I was thinking of doing something subtle like 30mm

They are. For some reason the guy I bought if from had 45s put on but as they look almost new I don't want to remove them yet. I personally prefer the standard 55s

I thought phase 3's in general came without splitters? Could be wrong though.

Thankyou. I searched for ages to find one I was happy with so I'm glad you guys agree.

Do you know what colour it is? My guess is anthracite grey?

The phase 3's all came with a splitter, but it was in a bag in the boot and the dealers were responsible for fitting them.

Evidently a lot of them didn't bother.

By the way, some photos and a cambelt change? Epic project Yes Thumbs up

Read the top, I did say that it's not going to be anything special, I want to keep it subtle for now, so nothing "epic"

I would say it is Ford Graphite Grey as it looks very similar in the 'sunny' pics, also its a very common colour choice for these wheels, or at least it seems to be. Dunno

Oh so it's one of those 2 then, thanks.

Yeah it always happens like that doesn't it. Oh well, just have to search scrapyards and eBay for one

time for a little update, got it back from Rich W today and i have to say he is a top bloke Thumbs up the guys at Lynx do wonderful work and are well worth the trip. i for one will definitely be going back with anything that comes up in the future that i cant fix. so it now has a new cambelt kit and waterpump and some nice shiny Rich W pulleys, and a full service (only the 2nd one ever recorded), the wheel vibration is now fixed, i will post a pic tomorrow of the problem wheel. and hopefully the coolant should now be fine. oh and i am now a proud member of TEAM WORKING AIRCON Big grin a few other things were done, but to sum up, shes as close to perfect as i think i will ever get. so this week the modifying can begin Smile nothing drastic, just subtle little things for now Whistle

I remember someone wanted a cyclone keyring ages ago, stick a key chain on it and post it to him.
