All the seat mounts are welded in now. Carpet is in. I will be putting the heater/air con box and dash in tonight. Maybe even start her up! ________________________________________ |

It won't start! The fuel pump won't prime although I can hear the relay clicking in the engine bay. It clicks when I turn the ignition on, then clicks off after about 2seconds. I'm using the fuel pump/fuel gauge loom from the diesel as it has 4 pins (2 thin wires and 2 thick ones) . There was only 2 pins on the diesel fuel gauge sender. It looked to me as if the loom was universal for petrol or diesel cars. I will check today to see if there is power getting to the plug. I've used all of the gti6 wiring and dash apart from the interior loom. Anyone had this problem before? ________________________________________ |

Is the engine bay wiring the GTI or Diesel? make sure the fuse in the engine bay fuse box is present and not blown. Pretty sure the cabin loom will be the same on both but make sure you've plugged in the connectors that are in the passenger side foot well to as IIRC thats where the fuel pump loom joins the dash loom________________________________________ When I've got time I forget what I wanted to do, and when I remember what I wanted to do, I have no time! |

Silly question, but is there a big red cut off switch top right of the engine bay? Press it, may not work but worth a go |

Success! Thanks Dan_s16. I hadn't plugged in the two plugs in the passenger footwell. She runs like a dream. I was worried that the ecu had locked out or something serious like that. I swapped over the central locking control box over from the gti and my key is still paired with it and is fully functional. It just goes to show how plug 'n play these cars really are. I'm so happy right now! ________________________________________ |

I made some new copper brake lines for the rear beam yesterday and bled the whole system. I actually drove it in to the garage for the first time instead of pushing it. It felt amazing driving my Gti6 2 door sedan! ________________________________________ |

Just a couple of pics to keep you all up to date. Glass is in as well as door locks and door rubbers. The Windows don't seem to work which is odd. I'm using the door loom from the gti but the interior loom from the sedan. The sedan had front electric Windows with the auto up/down on the drivers. The only difference between the two cars is that there is a black electronics box riveted to the gti door which the window wiring goes into. This box doesn't appear to the on the sedan front door. Any clues? ________________________________________ |
