Bit more work done on the car today (not a lot though)Got the new exhaust on, happy with the sound and look of it. No pictures just yet as iphone camera doesnt work well in bad light. eddy_gti6 wrote: i used a hairdryer to get mine out and worked fine Tried the hairdryer approach to the tar stuff, not that great to be honest. So still need to get rid of the rest of it, clean it up and get it painted before seats go back in. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Took the viper off to clean it all up (all oily and dirty)Had to move the car, and bloody hell, love the sound of quick blips of the throttle, just hearing it gulp down air Miss the K&N for induction roar. Quick pic of the viper after a wipe over. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Spent a very short while on the car today, got the rest (majority) of the tar stuff out the footwells. Got hold of a heat gun (paint stripper) which made light work of front footwells Lotek, I take back what I said, heatgun FTMFW While doing the drivers side footwell, noticed that there is a slight swelling/raised bit. I think maybe from being jacked up wrong? Can anyone see this being a problem? Should I hammer it out flat again? I will try get some pictures up tomorrow of it. Hoping to finish the rest off. White spirit the floors to get rid of the last bits of tar. Mask the car up, paint floor. Then hopefully get the seats back in. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Still not got the bloody floor done Here is is currently: Couple of pics of the new quieter exhaust: Also, while removing stuff from the car, there was a couple of cables that ran from the dash to rear of the car. 2 are the white and red audio cables, and a round connector. Guessing to power a CD changer. This also ran to the rear, and wasnt connected to anything.. what is it for? ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Right so today decided to finish off the footwells in the 6 after removing the vast majority of the tar (got fed up in the end with last few bits) Amateur warning Never spray painted anything before, so mate gave me a hand, but the masking and spraying is proper amateur Not too worried though to be honest, its only the footwells, seats will cover most, and its better than plain greyish floor. Left it drying and light was fading. Will get some better pics when its unmasked and properly dry. Will be matt black when its dry. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Also cut out the rest of the sound deadening that goes behind the dash. It says "7kg" on it and will of removed about half I would say, circa 3kg.Also removed all the tar from footwells, nearly 7kg and all carpets and foam sound deadening. Got to be nearly 15kg in total. Every little helps When its got its MOT sorted, will get it weighed again. Was 1080kg last time, but now 90% of interior has gone. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Might give it a whirl. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Thanks Marco The leather/alacantra seats were sold a while back. Still have the door cards in my loft in case I decide to go back. To be honest this won't be happening, so will be in the for sale section soon ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Little more progress, I unmasked the car and found there is a bit missing from where I "over masked" so will have to re-do that bit. I will wait until after I have had the plates welded in for cage, and tidy it up.Seats are back in, so starting to look like a race car now Can't wait to get the cage and get it in ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Hit a bit of a brick wall with this at the minute As per my thread here I am no longer getting the OMP cage as the guy selling decided to sell it to someone else as they offered more than me (Seller set price, then got offered more) My doorcards are still with Steve as he has had some trouble removing them. ...and the coilovers I am meant to be buying are still fitted to the car. Due to being busy, they won't be removed for a while yet. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |
