LOL - Most came with them, they just end up getting binned. I did look at a new one from Pug but they were NLA anywhere, so had to make do with mine.

Took it out (on my tradeplates) last night to fuel it up, felt ever so strange driving it after all this time, had to resist any agressive throttle openings whilst im running the new engine in. Did 15 miles and it's lovely. Seems a teeny bit hesitant but i'll see if that improves after a few runs. Sounds good to, purring just like an original engine should. Had two young chav girls looking at it in the BP petrol station as well LOL

Two girls? Best get myself one like yours then matt. Two girls makes the expense worth it for that to come true...chavs or not. Looks flapping tastic by the way. Pugfest?

Driving a car registered in your name (presumably) on Trade Plates is a no no isn't it?

    ^^ Yeah if you could?

Anyway, taxed the car yesterday and had the wheel alignment done this morning, drives lovely and straight now. Been out in it today, think ive got a small ooze coming from the top hose where it pushes into the stat housing, so will get a seal from Pug for the end of the hose and change it in the week.

Im sure the steering feels heavier, but its been nearly 7 months since i last drove it and have been driving brand new featherlight Toyotas since, so it might be because ive forgot what they felt like!

Certainly seems keener round traffic islands and stuff... need to drive it back to back with a standard 6 rack to really tell i reckon?

I got the part number for the seal, just cant order it till wednesday, be a job for next weekend.

    Cheers Stan.

Washed it and gave it a good going over with the Clay bar, ready for machine polishing. As i suspected, quite free from contaminents down the sides, yet a fair bit of crud came off the roof and tailgate where its been standing for so long.

Done 100 or so miles in the old shed today, mostly in the p**sing down rain (just to prove it aint a show queen lol), the VTS rack is awesome, the back road from Bridgnorth to Ludlow is a very twisty B road, and the steering was just wrist flick quick. Im sure its heavier than before though, anyone else noticed this?

The steering is so quick its easy to forget how little input you need on even the tighter corners.

Keep checking levels and for leaks, all good so far, although keeping it below 3000-3500 rpm can be a bit boring. Want to do 500 miles then drop the oil and filter, then again at 1000 miles before i start using full revs and throttle.

I replaced the n/s/f headlamp loom with a used one off Gnrlee (thanks buddy) as well, so now have functioning sidelights for next saturdays MOT.

Been doing a lot of head scratching the last few weeks and have realised that now ive done what i wanted to do with the car, and theres not a lot left to do (if anything) that i'm going to look for a new project, so.. its tentativly going to be put up for sale.

You can see what works gone into it, the parts that have been replaced and what condition its in. The private plate will have to come off as well, so it will be back on the original T440 LDF plates.

    Other basic facts are

    Taxed for 6 months.

Being MOT'd on sat 30th June, so will have 12months on,

Everything else is litterally as new, if not brand new.

Im looking for £3250 to include the set of Pro-refurbed cyclones and Toyo T1r's with 6mm of tread on them (unmarked)

Or £3000 as it stands on the compomotives.

I will chuck in whatever good spares that i have (standard gti6 steering rack, etc etc)

    Matt
