Ah, gotcha. Looking at the calipers it shouldn't be too hard to tap out the receptive end, but there's not much space for the head to sit; probably enough if I use some cap head bolts and a small washer.

Do you not use the metal clip things either? I think they're the anti-rattle bits.

No, but that's because they tend to get some mud built up behind them and the pad sticks on, don't think you'll have that problem LOL

Ah I see. I'll try and source the proper kit, BrakesInt have now said they *do* have the part but had the number listed incorrectly and will sort their website shortly.

Just asking them about the pins for a giggle Smile

Oh right, so after all this beating off you accept your car isn't really suitable for your needs? Interesting.

Gimme a few weeks and I'll have some Brembos from a 406 you can have, I'm sure Ash'll make you a reverse fitment kit Wink

No comment Wink

New seals on their way from Brakes International, should arrive tomorrow. Still struggling to find the set of pins for less than £60, might drop in at Renault on my way home, I do quite feel like laughing in a man's face.

Would be a result if the rears just so happened to fit perfectly...

All cleaned up, seals and pistons out and off to the powder coaters they go:

As they'd sat in someone's cupboard a while the pistons were pretty tough to get out, ended up connecting them to the car and have the missus pump the pedal while I did some intricate handiwork with a selection of g-clamps.

Oh, and guess what I picked up from Ash last night...

Rotors should arrive in a week or so.

Yeah it's not cheap once you've got everything required, but my car's *all* about the suspension and brakes, so kinda pointless unless I do it right.

And yes there are plenty more parts in a box at home Yes

Hmm, lovely stuff Love

There are a fair few pits and bits by where the pads are and round the back (due to grease etc that didn't come off in blasting), but the fronts are pucker. He did say he'd do them again for me if I wanted or could do me a can of paint to match, but I'm really not that fussed.

WIN.

Well I'm still waiting on the rotors to turn up, then I'm away next week en France.

Week after that hopefully get the brakes on (and possibly remove the ABS...?) then it'll be trackday time Yes

Don't want to book any up until I know it's all good and working.

Well on the plus side, I found time to rebuild my calipers, so they're pretty much ready to go back together Smile

On the downside they apparently made the rotors the wrong size, so have to start waiting all over again. Grr.

Pfft, surely there's some kind of Clio owner's club that you, Papa and Nicole should be chatting on?

Wheels and brakes will be going on once I get my ABS removal parts from Swampster and the discs eventually arrive...
