Maybe you should leave the garage when you need the toilet then? Unsure

Ahh! It's a lovely feeling: Carefully getting the box down from the airing cupboard, opening it up and gently pushing the newspaper aside to see that the two Brembo's nestling in there have survived hibernation and don't need to be chucked in next door's wheelie-bin at 2AM when the kid's are asleep Whistle

Is indeed! Quote cutely they seem to have given birth to two rear calipers while they were in there. Might have a go at fitting them to the Pug seeing as they're included, they look far superior to the standard ones. Will no doubt need some new discs but might be worthwhile if it means I can actually pass an MOT once every so often.

Annoyingly no pins with them Doh

Google time for me.

Worth contacting the seller to see if they have them kicking around?

Already have done. Also in touch with people like Brakes International as I know they do a kit for the V6 ones, bet they don't have anything for these though Wink

On the plus side I did manage to get the whole set of four for £122, so I'm still in the win even if it does cost me a stupid amount for them.

i have bad news. them brakes are discontinued due to a horrible cracking problem which happens when braking. they split right the way down the middle and fall off the hub and you end up dying

avoid death and send them to me, and i will recycle them for you.. you pay postage aswell. only fair

Very tempting, BrakesInt reckon they don't do seals or pins, despite Chris saying he has them.

I've gone back to them with the part number, here's hoping. If not, the kit can be bought for about £60 from here, or a different design I think I'd prefer from eBay.

Either way, annoying. However as the seller I bought the calipers from was flogging them on pretty much unopened since they in turn bought them I doubt very much I'll have any luck there.

Drill, tap + bolt.

As a bonus, it stiffens the calipers up slightly too.
Do that on all the the off-roaders as the pins tend to rattle out otherwise.

Interesting idea I guess, got any pictures of it successfully done? Sounds a bit more like the ebay item which is different to the standard design.

So you do what - clearance hole in the head end, slide a bolt through and tap out the far side?

Hmm, that looks pretty interesting.

Two questions - first up I assume they're too long just because that's what you had rather than any technical reason, and secondly how do you stop them coming loose?

They're the right length, just not screwed in, the Hispec sides are quite thick.

And as for coming loose - tight tapped thread, torque 'em up a touch, and a spring washer under the bolt head.
Obviously make sure the pads are sliding on the shank, not the thread Wink
