I got a few more bits today.

An ignition switch came through the post, cheers Ash.

After work I nipped down to Carl's and picked up a straight bonnet.
Whilst I was there he forced me to buy a front wing to replace the one damaged by my flying gazebo.
At least he had some milk in for a cup of tea this time. Thumbs up

When I got home I stuck the bonnet on as I thought it would be the safest place for it.
As it was dark I have just bunged it on for now, I'll adjust it when I can see what I am doing.

Not much left to do now.

Do you remember my pile of bricks?

At the weekend I decided to shift them up the yard, which involved lots of trips with the wheelbarrow.

They are now up here

It took ages to shift them.

Got the car back on the ground

The new bonnet is on and the old one has joined the scrap pile.

I tried to start it tonight, found I had left the earth lead off from the 'box to the chassis.
Re fitted that.
It turns over and I am getting fuel up because it is leaking from the flexi to the fuel rail but it did not even try to start.Sad

Dunno mate, I am going to have to check it over when I have some daylight.

I have removed an old alarm/immobiliser so there could be an issue relating to that aswell.

Ok, the thing will not start.....

I have no voltage at the coil pack plugs when cranking.
When I switch the ignition on it goes to 12v for a few seconds (at the run position, not start position) then drops off.

There is fuel up.

The multi function relay keeps operating on it's own, even with no key in the ignition, is this normal?
I have tried two relays, they both do it.

looks like the crank sensor is plugged in. (top of gearbox, brown plug)

What do I look at next?

This afternoon I thought I would do an easy job, fitting the handbrake cables.

You have to drop the heat shield above the exhaust, so I wire brushed the studs, ran a die nut up them to clean the threads, then sprayed them with oil, then snapped the b**tards off.
After all that messing aboutRoll eyes

The O/S cable goes through a guide on the bottom of the fuel tank support, that fekker broke off aswell....

Found myself in Leicester this morning......

I went to see this chap, a real style guru.

She is in his hands now.
Would you let a man like that loose with your car?
Will it ever go again?
