What will the normal ones weigh? And why would you need twin skin?

Any chance of a better price on the single skin version if I can get you a firm order for two?

twin skin carbon would be £380. twin skin means u use standard hinges and latch. 10/11kg

single skin carbon about £280/300 as said above but will be about 6/7kg from trying to work it out off the top of my head.

twin skin with foam core about £600 should be about 4kg

single skin foam core about £500 shold be sub 3kg.

its the price of the foam used that keeps the price up but i will work on a confirmed price when people get back to me. standard foams wouldn't be upto the job and i wouldn't be happy putting them into a bonnet.

Sounds good to me, I'll have a chat to a friend of mine who loves his carbon goodies and get back to you and see if we can sort something out.

As long as it did'nt adversely affect the strength I would'nt mind if it had joins as the weave won't be seen after as I intend to paint mine.

it wouldn't affect the strength if its made from two pieces, if any thing it'll be bit stronger but its only by a tiny amount. glass fibre is heavier and wouldn't be much cheaper to do as it has to be thicker. pm me and i'll discuss it. might be able to do something on price to.

Why not get some high pressure hoses and mount your brake fluid reservoirs over to the left on the firewall?

That seems very tempting, dependant on how close to the carbon weight of course Cool
