the glass ones will be heavier than carbon. will check the weight friday once i have one made and sat on the car to make sure its all ok. just to say the bit behind the badge has been cut down as it doesn't do anything other than make it harder to mould. have to get a definate price but there will be 3 glass skins going for £75 collected from silverstone.

took these last night once the mould was released, came off very nicely. its been polished today but won't be doing anymore with it till friday.

i will do a phase one bonnet mould if i can get at least 10 people intrested or someone/people want to share the mould cost. the phase 3 mould has just cost me £200 and should be a lot thicker for prolonged production.

ide be intrested in a ph1 lets see who else if the mould will cost £200 then we could just divide that amount buy the number of people wanting one! and add that to the cost of the bonnet!

Why not get some high pressure hoses and mount your brake fluid reservoirs over to the left on the firewall?

Yeah pretty much, if you look further up he mentioned that to use the original fixings you need double skin, where as if your using pins you might as well get the lighter one skin

debadged bonnet mould won't even be started for two weeks i'm affraid. just don't have the time at the minute. and to employ someone to do it just costs to much.

How comes it's ended up 8kg... That's a little heavy for a single skin ain't it?
I thought it would have been more around the 6.5 mark..?

Cheers,
Tom.

Just wondering if you are using wet lay or pre preg? from the photos it looks like wet lay which would explain to people why the weight may seem slightly heavier than they had expected due to more resin being used in the process?
