its ended up at 7kg. including the badge. as said the price for the single skin fibreglass is £75 and untill i finish breaking in the mould and can get better prices on wider carbon then the carbon bonnets are on hold.

I understand you can't use the standard catches with the single skin, but does that mean it also doesn't have the hinges? Ie on a single skin I'd need four catches?

Does anyone know how much the standard bonnet weighs? If it's a big enough advantage I'd definitely be interested in a P1 FG bonnet.

Will the FG bonnets come in black unpainted, or will you be able to do some in white unpainted?

Only that white would save me having to get it painted Smile

Yes you would have to use four catches... For the single skin one!

yer can do fibreglass in both black, white or grey. looking at a bighead fixing to be able to use hinges with single skin bonnets but they are £1.45 each so would add a small amount to the cost. will weigh the standard bonnet tomorrow, sure it about 25kg without lining.

In that case I'd definitely be interested in taking a white single-skin bonnet from you, preferably with hinges. What's the lead time on them if I collected?

I reckon I'll probably wait until he's made them Wink

I'll pick them up more or less as soon as they're ready, might have to take a half day off work or something.

Hinges require double skinning.

Okay scratch that, apparently P1's aren't being done yet, and i don't know if a P3 bonnet will fit.

Can anyone confirm whether or not a P3 bonnet will fit a P1?

no it doesn't require double skin now. found away around it. its a bighead fixing which is bonded in during layup to give an m6 thread to bolt to. just waiting for them to arrive.

can anyone confirm the weight of the standard bonnet? 25kg sounds heavy!

Surely with the single skin, with the hinges you couldnt have the pistons on to lift it up? as you have to push down pretty hard to get them to shut.

I thought the panels were interchangable between phases tbh...

I'd like to get it before the end of the month if possible!

Im sure the bonnets are all interchangable with one another tbh, main difference is how large the bulge in the middle is raised, and the badge fixing.

P1 - not raised at all. No badge
P2 - slightly raised. With badge
P3 - raised the most. With badge

farmer - cheers for the offer but I have a P1 and they're not being made, so sadly I'll not be taking one.

Tom - apologies for the inconvenience, but doesn't look like I'll be going!

O.
