I remember boarding a RAF flight from Brize a few years ago and there were two guys on the wing patching something up with black and nasty ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

Here's another one....aboard a RAF VC-10 heading for America and it springs an oil leak mid air. After a stop in Canada the pilots decided to carry on with the journey and stop for repairs in Washington D.C instead as it was far warmer there. A lot of the guys had oil soaked bergans. We found all this out after landing in Washington and reluctantly had to spend 2 nights in a 5 star hotel until the plane was fixed.....thanks RAF ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

Going back to adf's and lims... I have seen some bloody stupid ones!Pilot "radio does not work in the O F F mode" mupet Ground crew "do not leave aircraft unattended as it can not be secured" .... It's a chinook in a war zone who is going to try and steal it!! Plus the 3 mini guns will put people off! |

I take it was DARA when u were here? It's changed quite a bit, after it was DARA it then got sold to vector aerospace and a few months ago we got taken over by eurocopter! Lynx's and seakings are on the run down and chinooks have taken over most the yard due to boeing now working along side us so we get all the contracts! |

Hello everyone, I know it's been a while since I've posted anything on the forum, but I have been lurking in the background trying to keep up with it all. The reason I'm posting now is because I'm actually learning to fly, and as it turns out, it's quite expensive. I never thought I'd be doing this, but I think I may have to start working again on the old 6's. If I had it my way, all I would do is service maintenance work, but I guess I'd have to offer the whole shebang and carry out repairs as well as diagnostics. That being said, majority of the work I carried out before I stopped was Cambelt and waterpump changes; this would is my preffered job as I even have a kit setup for it. For this reason I've revised my price to: £220 all in Now I don't assume anyone's desperate for my services, but I am making them available. Email is still the best way to get in contact with me. However, I do work a 4on4off night shift so I might not always reply right away. I hope we can make this work! Deepak ________________________________________ Deepak Gohil |

To be honest, you could still join the Navy as a helicopter engineer at 32. Whether you'd enjoy the terrible pay drop is another question!A career as a start out would be good for your son, I have done 12 years in the fleet air arm. A job like pugheaven's would also be good |
