Not for me although id be happy to Do it if they would take me on at 32!
I'm just thinking of the future and a career for my son.
Hey Andy, I don't think it takes a lot of brains to get onto an apprenticeship with British Airways. Passes in the core GCSE subjects is the minimum academic requirement, but on top of that you need to be keen and willing and show mechanical aptitude; which they test for.
The first year of the apprenticeship is upaid and is a college placement at Kingston, Farnborough or Brooklands college, if you visit their websites I think they have a requirments page that will tell you everything you want to know.
Or google BA apprenticeships. The company now also has a dedicated youtube page and has videos of current apprentices sharing their experiences.

Hey Gilesy,
To answer your question I'm going to have to immitate an HR girl. "Please refer to the British Airways career website".
What I will say though is that they will be recruiting externally for mechs/techs and engineers soon, so definitely subscribe to the site and keep a close check on it.
Being ex-forces, fixed or rotary, will more than likely put you at the top of the list mate.
I hope I've helped guys, good luck!
