correction, I think most people use a 288mm C5 disc, that is 28mm thick and 34.2mm height.

that's the same as a Xantia 110 HDI estate, 7.98 kilos.

they seem ideal bar being 7mm smaller diameter, so 3.5mm less for the pads to grab onto.

yup Thumbs up

Xantia V6 uses a normal Bosch caliper like the 110 hdi.
not from memory, or servicebox LOL I found the Textar online catalogue, same catalogue as Mintex Ferodo and Bosch amongst a few by the looks of it

I'm going to weigh everything before I swap them anyway. Need to get new hoses, fluid, some spacers and the new seal before I fit them. Probably going to paint them as well as they look a bit used.

Not much for the size of it! Will do - with or without pads?

just the weight of the pads would do, found the weight of the caliper on the 205 forum as there's a topic documenting weights of various bits Smile

quote:
406 Coupe V6 Brembo 4-pot calipers:

3750 grams per caliper

the caliper weighs sod all Yes especially in comparason to the sandard item.

also i found something very interesting.

i looked at some discs from a 307 lx and from memory they were 283?x 23.. BUT.......

they had those coin shape cut outs that phillipm was mentioning about to reduce/shift harmonic waves...... I.E stop squeeling.......

most likely a 22mm disc, or an extremely worn 26mm one.

sounds like an ATE Powerdisc.

Not, not like that Mei - a half circular cutout in the vents and halfway into the disc faces either side, helps shift the harmonic frequency.

Imagine a keyseat cutter pushed sideways into the vents of the disc.

The forum will be broken until christmas now Doh
I would have gone for the Willwoods, but they're too much dough. I know what you mean Phil on the cutouts multiple crescent shaped. Come standard on a few cars, but none I can remember right now!

Lotek - they don't squeal at all on Dan_s16s car with DS2500s and Tarox G88 discs. I'm not actually that fussed about squeal, until the summer when the windows have to be open.

I just weighed a gti6 caliper and yoke minus pads on my highly accurate Ikea bathroom scales and got 6 kilos.

so 2.25 kilos less on the caliper, but 2kg's heavier on the disc Doh
