I would say they are better than KW V.2 Just look at what KW gives! Same shocks for the 1020kg 1.4 75hp Xsara Coupe as the 1189kg 167hp VTS!!!? And those are only the prototypes on Adam's car. The set I received is completely different. Unfortunately no good pictures from them, but once I have the opportunity I'll show you some. ________________________________________ VTSbest 60' : 2.272 best 1/8 ET : 9.375 @ 74.42mph best 1/4 ET: 14.603 @ 97.047mph Team Trackday™ |

Stainless bodies have their own drawbacks tbh, why is why none of the race manufacturers use them.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. which ones use a stainless body? afaik these are black Anodised alloy with orange powdercoated springs and orange anodised knobs.have worked on Adam's car recently and they're standing up to British winter road conditions very well, has done several thousand miles since they were fitted. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

The KW's, and:1. Heat retention - they don't transmit the heat from the oil very well so the damper runs hotter and looses some damping effect when pushed hard. 2. Galvanic corrosion - stainless steel into a larger aluminium structure are fine - small aluminium fittings (spring pans) onto large stainless bodies are not connected by a large surface area (very fine thread) so the spring pans are just as likely to stick as a normal zinc-plated steel body is anyway. But they are shiny for a while To be honest, so long as you wax a steel damper occasionally (which is normally part of your warranty if you read it), they should be fine for years. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. ahhh... so really suited for those who like to look at their cars and don't use them properly welshpug! wrote: which ones use a stainless body? afaik these are black Anodised alloy with orange powdercoated springs and orange anodised knobs. have worked on Adam's car recently and they're standing up to British winter road conditions very well, has done several thousand miles since they were fitted. I guess non-of the ASTs use stainless steel body. ________________________________________ VTSbest 60' : 2.272 best 1/8 ET : 9.375 @ 74.42mph best 1/4 ET: 14.603 @ 97.047mph Team Trackday™ |

It's not a huge difference, but it muddies the waters when deciding to choose a stainless bodied damper or a steel one.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. For the front struts? Coated steel or titanium to keep the flex to a minimum, given they take side loads - for the rear, ideally alloy bodies that are internal coated with a multi-element or diamond-LC coating on the inside, but that's pricey, hard-anodised ally can last a while but can start to wear a little faster if the oil isn't changed when it starts to go slightly acidic.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. What about Nivea Hand Cream - got some of that kicking about? Think CUJ left it behind the other day. I have no idea what mine are made of, but they actually aren't much different from yours Tibi. The rear adjustment and a tad more rear damping are the only things I can think of Anyway I don't care - they still work very well... ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |
