ASTs on! ![]() The fronts were a bit tricky to fit (especially compared to simple shocks, as we have to measure the droplink fixing point's exact place - as on the ASTs these are adjustable, and the lower spring seat to make sure both sides sit evenly) And the rears were a piece of p*ss to fit as the exhaust heat shield was in the way, and none of the bolts wanted to came out - it was running on the original shocks (just like the front) - and they were still very good, as it passed the suspension dyno at MOT. I just came back from a short test drive, and I set both front and rear to middle position (6.), and the rear is a bit wobbly, so will have to check how it feels on setting 8-9. And before you ask Adam, no I DID NOT test it properly to see how many Gs can I pull in a corner, as I still have summer tires on and these mated to 3 ________________________________________ VTSbest 60' : 2.272 best 1/8 ET : 9.375 @ 74.42mph best 1/4 ET: 14.603 @ 97.047mph Team Trackday™ |

Thats the thing i've been trying to get though, standardish ride quality with awesome grip and handling. As you have stiffer rear springs then yes knock it up a notch or too to compensate for them. What size wheels / tyres are you using? As for the 3 degrees / summer tyres i've been battering down some nice leaf and mud strewn roads today. Couple of "am I going to make it" moments, but huge confidence in it, especially as the LOOS sorts out the "am I going to make it" corners ![]() Just got to get the brakes up to scratch ![]() ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

I have M1144 pads, and the car nearly failed on MOT as, to quote the guy: "for such small pedal pressure the brakes should not stop the wheels like this!"![]() and thanks, but I don't want to end up in a ditch ![]() wheels ar 15" Tecnomagnesio TM Lights (with the correct ET) and the tires are utter shit Nokian NRHs They're only good in winter tires... had a few set and they were up to Michelin Alpin level, but the summer tires are not good. I've learnt my lesson. ________________________________________ VTSbest 60' : 2.272 best 1/8 ET : 9.375 @ 74.42mph best 1/4 ET: 14.603 @ 97.047mph Team Trackday™ |

one thing tho.my rear shocks are upside down (compared to a normal rear shock and yours for example) don't you know what's the reason for this? It's 100% sure that they should fit like this, as one hole is d=12mm and the other is d=14mm, so I can not mix them, and I can only reach the adjuster this way, and even the stickers are in a normal way like this. But the shaft is facing down, and shock body is up... ? ________________________________________ VTSbest 60' : 2.272 best 1/8 ET : 9.375 @ 74.42mph best 1/4 ET: 14.603 @ 97.047mph Team Trackday™ |

I have had M1144s before as well, but they fell apart - DS2500s FTW. Have a set of 406 brembos going on very shortly. Was considering getting some winter tyres this year for a laugh, but fairly pointless as we get feck all snow. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

welshpug! wrote: winter tyres aren't just for snow mind, just temps under 7 degrees and general shit weather ![]() Yeah I know. Ideally need a couple of tyres (let the fronts go too low before cycling them doh!). Vredestien winter jobbies are very likely on the front so when the snow happens I can have some serious fun ![]() ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

phillipm wrote: Shouldn't be a problem, monotubes can run that way up. You're right Phil (as always ![]() The email I received from Curtis: "Hi Tibi, Glad your happy with the kit, The way you have mounted them is correct, as we use a floating piston gas damper they can sit at any angle, the reason Adams are different is that I made them from parts I had sat on the shelf! So no problems there." So this confirms what you said, and we get to know that Adam's dampers are proper off the shelf units ![]() ________________________________________ VTSbest 60' : 2.272 best 1/8 ET : 9.375 @ 74.42mph best 1/4 ET: 14.603 @ 97.047mph Team Trackday™ |
